infertility is a male and a female problem the only way to find out if this might be a concern for you is to go to your doctor and get test. and he would have to have a sperm analysis. Most of the time even if something is not working correctly it Can be fixed with medication
Good Luck

You could have just been lucky. The doctors will not do any infertility tests on yuo or your bf untill you have been trying for at least 2 yrs. Making a baby is not as easy as it seems. For the longest time doctors told me I would not be able to become pregnant because of something my ex did to me (long story). I not only have a 15 month old daughter but I am also a egg donor. You actually only have a small wimdow of time each month to conceive. Where as men can create sperm at any time during the month we only release a egg once a month.

It could've been a problem with his sperm, it could've been a problem with your fertility. It could've been both. However, more likely than not, you were just not ovulating at *exactly* the right time to get pregnant.
Before we are ready to have babies, everyone tells us "it only takes one time" and "you can get pregnant ANY TIME during your cycle". This is only partly true. You can get pregnant ANY TIME you are ovulating, and women don't always ovulate at regular times.
To learn more about your fertility I highly suggest the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It will help you read your body's signs of fertility and ease any concerns you may have. It can also alert you if your body does have a fertility issue.

It could have been either of your faults, or you just weren't ovulating at the time, or you worried yourself into a very early miscarriage.
Hopefully your current boyfriend is planning for the future, i.e. after marriage? He should be mature enough to know that infertility is always a gamble. How does he know he's virile?

Infertility is not anyones fault! Its nature something that might be simply fixed with medicines or not fixed at all for some other reason! If you go into trying to have a baby with that attitude you wont get very far! Instead of concentrating on "whose fault it is" why not concentrate on the fun part of making babies!

well it just depended on if you were ovulating at that time. you might not have been. but if you were your ex might have just had weak sperm. i wouldnt worry about anything until you are trying again with your new boyfriend for at least a year. then if you havent conceived i would call a doc to get some fertility testing done.

Are you serious the way you have explained yourself. I dont believe ya didnt know your ex shooted up ya 3 times 'your words not mine'. If your new boyfriend is afraid ya cant have kids tell him he can always adopt one, ya never know ya might get one made to measure. You either want to get pregnant or you dont. Go to your doctor and have an adult conversation with him.

both genders have diff problems, and just b/c you didn't get pregnant doesn't mean there's anything wrong w/ you, or that guy....other than his idiocy in doing something like that.
there's no reason to think there's anything wrong w/ either of you. Once you've been actually trying for a while, more than 6 mo, I'd say, you could always get tested, but until then, don't worry about it.

it could be that your exs sperm was the problem in which case there is nothin to worry about...but there is the possibility that you could be the one not able to have kids. I'd get it checked by a doc and see how things turn out for you
~and yea you coulda just gotten lucky~

You've asked a very complex question. You might have a medical problem, or not. He might have a medical problem, or not. You should talk to your doctor the next time you're in, but we don't have enough information at this point to make a decision.
