Looking to replace my video card. current card is an e-geforce 6200 (256mb, agp 8x, ddr). The card i have my eye on is 512 mb, agp 8x, but is ddr2. what exactly does the ddr mean? how do i know if i can use a video card thats ddr2?

DDR2 videoram is faster but a 256mb ddr3 would easily beat that 512mb ddr2. Get ddr3 even if it is just 256mb, you will never regret it.

All I know is that DDR2 is faster than DDR.

And yes, you can use a card with DDR2 memory, even one with GDDR4 memory if it's in your price range and PC specs.

Short answer no. They have nothing to do with each other. The faster memory on the graphics card just means that it will perform faster.

ddr2 is faster. not issues with compatibility. you should be good
