you're close to your second trimester and the risk of miscarraige drops dramatically after a heart beat is seen....you just have to relax! i was the same way with all my babies including this one--I was told twice by er docs that i was going to miscarry--NOT THE CASE----i'm sure you're fine---the pain you feel is round ligament pain---it's your muscles accomodating your growing baby! and the docs are right--unless you have SEVERE pain or bright red spotting or bleeding----there's nothing to worry about---try to enjoy this time in your life----try reading lots of pregnancy books so you can follow up with how your body is changing! it helps!

It's perfectly normal and even expected to be worried about having a miscarriage with every pregnancy - especially your first because you don't know what to expect. I'll be 16 weeks this Friday with my first and I'm still scared of losing my baby. Obvious red flags are heavy bleeding accompanied by severe cramps. Other than that, I've come to learn that anything can be normal during a pregnancy - some of those normal things can also NOT be normal. My advice to you is to just try and relax until Friday, where hopefully you'll get to see your baby or something. Just hang in there - everything will be alright. Congrats and good luck.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's normal to worry because your body feels like it never has before. There are so many physical changes that you have never been through before that everything is strange and a little scary. That's true whether you're 18 or 38! I have had two successful pregnancies and two miscarriages and I never knew that anything was wrong with the pregnancies I lost.
Have you seen the baby on the ultrasound? Once you have seen the baby the miscarriage rate drops to 10% and once you have seen the heartbeat it drops to less than 5%. Once you have heard the heart with a doppler it goes to less than 1%.
You'll worry no matter what. It's natural, and it's part of the maternal instinct welling up in you already. Underweight moms need to gain more weight than their average weight counterparts, so more like 25-35 lbs. It's hard when you're a young woman who is thin to gain weight on purpose, but it's for a good cause. If you don't gain enough weight the baby will take all your nutrition and can lead to health problems for you.
tell your DR your fears and he/she will help, really. They are used to first time moms being a little needy. They are there to help you!

Those cramping pains are normal. Unless you're bleeding.
Your uterus is beginning to stretch and make room for the baby. You should feel these for at least a few weeks. I think I had mine most of my first trimester. More toward the end.
If you've been to the hospital I'm surprised they didn't tell you this. Apparently they aren't very helpful on their own. You should try to be more assertive. You're paying these people. Don't leave a place scared or uncertain. If you have questions as to why your body is doing something... or why it feels that way and they say it's normal... ask why it's normal. Ask what's going on. Then you can be more informed, and less frightened.
Relax... and no matter what never be afraid to call your Ob/Gyn with questions... that's what they're there for. Best of luck!

Hey! First of all Congrats!:) I know its hard not to worry that something might happen but so far it sounds like everything is ok, your not bleeding and your 11 weeks, remember once you hit the 12 week mark your risk of miscarraige goes down a lot. Trust me I am 15 weeks now and 19 years old. I was scared to death that I would have a miscarraige but I kept taking my pre-natals and once I heard the babys heartbeat I was relieved! I think you should be fine! Congrats!! God Bless
Oh and also bout the pain is it like light cramping? I had that a lot I always felt like I was going to start my period but thank God never did:) If it really hurts go to the doc.

The only thing I've heard that tends to make much more sense to me concerning miscarriages is that something is wrong with the fetus. It's not developing properly and that early on the body will miscarry. At this point you really don't have any reason to be worried.
You're also 11 weeks along. Your first trimester (weeks 1 -12) are the most fragile in pregnancy. So, you're practically at the finish line in terms of miscarriage worry.
The cramping you're feeling is probably your growing uterus. After the 12 week mark, is when you'll see your body start to change slowly. I would imagine the cramping is from that. I also cramped from time to time with my daughter.
You're not experiencing any bleeding, and you're practically through your first trimester. You're in good shape.
Congrats and good luck.

Wow well i am 18 almost 19 too and i had the same prob when i was early on in my pregnancy. It is normal to worry about the well being of your baby the worry usually is not as bad as you get farther along. When i went to the er it was also for pains in my ovary area. They pretty much blew me off bla bla bla. I would say go to your doc have them do an ultrasound to make sure that your baby is not in your ovarys

Have you had your first ultrasound yet? If you haven't, make an appointment with the doctor for one ASAP.
You need to stop stressing, but I'm a bit curious as to the pain on one side of your body. It is sharp? Dull? What? Mention that to your doctor. It could be something as menial as ligiments stretching or as scary as an etopic pregnancy.

It may be just the changes your body is going through while you are adjusting to the pregnancy. just continue to do what the doctors have told you to do. eat healthy, don't do anything that would harm the baby ( if you are not sure about something ask your doctor). Just remember to pray and thank God for the gift he has given you. God will never put more on you than you can bare.
