That happened with me. If you paid thru Paypal, they will ask you if have resolved this with your bank. But since you paid with money order, you might need to go to USPS and place a stop on that money order. USPS will give you the refund.

Who knows, but if the seller can not accept a credit card that could be a red flag for one, the only other method you should use is COD, that way you don't get took.
COD stands for Cash-On-Delivery, buyer HAS to pay the deliveryman the amount before being able to receive the package. Usually the amount due is selling price + shipping + COD fee, however the exact figure is an arbitrary decision that should've been reached beforehand as the seller decides what the COD cost is, so there are no surprises.
COD costs the seller an extra 5-10 bucks in the way of a COD fee, seller can request that buyer pay this, the entire option of who pays the fee is a discretionary thing between the seller and the buyer, doesn't really matter who pays for it, it's a choice to be made. But, buyer HAS to pay the full amount at time of delivery, AND buyer gets the product, seller is later sent a check from the USPS or whoever delivered.
The only way you can get skru'd is if someone sends you a trojan horse, such as a package that is full of nothing but filler stuff and what you ordered is not there... However, you could ask the delivery man if he would wait 1 minute while you open the package to check for this, then so long it is ok there is no problem.
Now an honest seller will either accept credit card or COD, it's the proper way of doing things because either way the seller gets paid AND you get your item.
File a complaint through ebay, can't hurt, good luck.

They have an antifraud guarantee that will most likely protect you. Most sellers contact you within a few days with shipping information. Be sure you give the person time. Some sellers are actually big companies and they don't respond quickly, they just ship you your stuff. Go to the eBay site and read the links at the very bottom. You'll find the info. there. I believe it's called Safe Harbor Guarantee. By the way, They don't just hand over money. You have to contact the seller and document it. They will give you a phone number to call, you have to try that. Then you have to fill out forms. They'll contact the seller. After a few rounds of that you get your money back, up to a certain amount.

There will be some repercussions for the seller, but ultimately, if the seller runs away with your money, you are out of luck. Ebay is not going to give you the money back. If you had paid by some other means than a money order (like a credit card or PayPal) you would have a chance of getting your money back. As it stands, you don't

eBay does not get involved in financial arrangements between buyer and seller. I never pay for anything on eBay with anything other than a credit card thru PayPal.
If the seller only accepts cash, then you should have used an escrow service which would hold the money until the item arrived satisfactorily. When the item arrives, the escrow agent releases the funds to the seller.
If you've already paid with no such protection, sad to say, you are on your own.

You can file a complaint with EBAY, and certainly post some very negative feedback, so this guy will never be able to do business again, but as far as EBAY taking responsibility, NO.
How long has it been since you sent the money order. Maybe try to put a stop payment on it.

Definitely contact ebay! They have an entire "department" or section that deals on unfair or unfulfilled transactions. They'll help to contact the dealer/seller for you, and if that seller doesn't respond to ebay, they are usually suspended from ebay. Ebay will also help you track down your money to a point. Check to see if the money order was cashed (they have an 1-800 number on them usually to call for tracking) and have all your info ready when you contact ebay.

I think they only guarentee insurance and a refund if you use Paypal. See if you can get the money order refunded and try to get in contact with the seller again. If you can't, then contact eBay and see what they will do.

that depends if you paid w/ paypal or not. If you pay with paypal, and the seller has 98% or less feedback, you are entitled to insurance up to $200. If he has more than 98% feedback, then you have insurance up to $2,000. I'm not sure how many feedback the seller has to have.
If you did not pay with paypal, you can submit a claim, and i'm not sure if you can get money back.
