haters, sports analysts, sports article writers, EVERYONE just jumps to count out the best team in baseball and they've been shut up 11 straight years-- they just tied for wild card-- even if they do fall apart after this I think they proved they are THE BEST

Teams, writers, talk show hosts and haters of all kind love to count out the Yankees. Okay, they started off horrendously, but as you can see, excellence always prevails. Teams in the AL East makes moves to either beat The Yankees or to keep them from getting other players. Look what Boston did with Eric Gagne. No matter what they think, The Yankees are always th team to beat. They are now in the position to overcome The RedSox. You know they will hit the skids in September. It's an annual tradition. Never count out the pinstripes w/ the interlocking NY. Daaaaaaaaaaa Yankees winnnnnnnn!!!!!!!

It's the media really. No team has bigger expectations then the NY Yankees year after year. Every loss in the season is considered huge, and every win is expected. That and the constant comparisons to the Yankee teams of the past....it gets a little out of hand. But i guess thats just the media's job right? To get you reading and watching and questioning. Remember fans, its 162 game season. Take it from a philly fan. My team once had a 6 1/2 game lead with 12 to play and blew it somehow! It was before my time, but the lesson remains the same.

They are not THE BEST... they just finally tied themselves into a playoff spot.
The reason most don't believe - until today, they did not play a .500 or better team since 7/8. That is a lot of bad teams to beat up on. What happened when they played better than average teams - well, you might remember being 10 games out then.
We will see what happens. Still, when was the last time they won the World Series? Been a while, huh!

LMAO! Yankees the best team in baseball??? How can you say that if anything they are the biggest disappointment in all of sports! They have the highest payroll and the best players money can buy but yet they aren't leading their division and they are only 12 games over .500! How is that the best team in baseball? They should be 30 games over .500, leading the division and winning the world series for what they have! They are a BUST!

Yankees fans need their little fantasies. Consider, has anyone else gotten this excited about being the best second-place team on August 6?

Remember to take a moment to think of Hiroshima.

Because they're old and injury prone. I can't believe Brian Cashman still has a job with some of the contracts he's given out.

oh wait, this is Yahoo Answers. You're totally right. I hate haters. Bombers all the way!

Wishful thinking. Delusion. Jealousy. Pick one of those, or come up with your own, and I'll add it to the list. Here we come, Red Sox! It's 1978 all over again! The Bronx is burning and the Back Bay is going down in flames!
