Though it is produced by a toy and game company, an Ouija board can help you harness any Oracle talents you may have. There are no spirits, curses, or ghosts involved.
The Ouija boards, like the pendulum, and the planchette, are amplifiers of talent already within the operator. If you try too hard or you have no natural talent, it is normal for the board to remain quiescent or make only foolish moves.
There are none of the evil things many Christians say will cause you harm, for all of these phenomena only exist in the minds of Christians who thrive on fear in others and themselves.
The Ouija board is subject to the laws of Magick because it is used as a tool of Magick and if you try to use it for an evil purpose the evil will be returned threefold

Hi,
Like a lot of so-called mythical activities, the Ouija Board works as well as you want it to work.
The Straight Dope, always an excellent resource, explains more. Basically, folks who use the board, either "consciously or unconsciously select what is read." In other words, it may not seem like you're choosing the letters, but you are.
To those who think the Ouija Board is a connection to the afterworld, the Skeptic's Dictionary offers this advice: "simply try it blindfolded for some time, having an innocent bystander take notes on what letters are selected. Usually, the result will be unintelligible nonsense."

Ouija boards are simple psychological tricks. Nothing more.
Testing this is easy:
Ask the Ouija board a question that nobody at the table could possibly know and that nobody can influence but that can be demonstrated quickly and easily. Examples might be:
Ouija board - when I cut the deck of cards sitting next to you what will be the card selected?
Ouija board - When I roll the dice next to you what will be the number shown ?
Ouija board - What will be the headline in tomorrow's newspaper ?
You will find that the Ouija board comes up with random answers that are meaningless.
IT IS JUST A TOY !!!

In my opinion ouija boards are nothing to mess w/. There is no way to tell truly what is talking to you and what the extent of their powers are... You might open a door you cannot close. You may think you are experienced and can handle it, but there are at least hundreds of beings out there that can best you... I cannot say enough about NOT using this tool...

Please for your sake don't use one. Ignore what the first answer says about no ghost etc being involved. My mom used to have one as a kid and it caused them alot of trouble. They started playing with it in their first house and mildly bad things happened, but when they moved to the second house, extremely bad things would happen, sounds like electric pole buzzing could be heard, they had their electrical checked ou and everything. Then there was an awful smell, it seemed to follow people around the house. They checked the walls for dead things but nnothing was found. People said they couldn't smell the "decaying death" scent outside, only when inside, and soon enough my moms friends refused to come over but would never say why. Then my mom say a grey cloud floating on the inside then it was gone. The last thing that happened was her brother, his band, and herself were playing in their little band, and suddenly the unplugged record player (and they didn't have battery ran ones at the time, this was in the 60's) played back exactly what they were playing. And too top it all off her brother tried to commit suicide in the house and was always getting sick. After that they got a priest to bless the house and the thing left... but recently on the last night of my stay with my mom in Boston she saw the "thing" floating above the wardrobe with the tv in it in the Hotel room. But after they got the preist in they threw the board away and it stopped.

When I was a little kid--we used to sit around and "ouija"--Good ol' William Fuld's board brought to you by Parker Bros.! Never had anything all that fascinating happen though--just alot of time spent accusing each other of pushing the planchette and cheating--I have since come to the conclusion that it's all alot of bunk! But it's a good way to waste time if you and a friend are bored--but a game of hambone is much better and develops alot of muscle coordination !

They are a dangerous game to the uneducated in spirit realms. They tend to draw the uneducated from the 'other' side as well. Why fool around with such a device? This is from a concerned Spiritualist who has had to help those who have done it...way too often.

Ouija boards are not toys. I realize that they are in the toy section with other games but there is real peril involved for people who are amateurs in the "other realms" world.
It is not a game to be trifled with. Ghosts, apparitions and spirits should be left alone.
