The usual Golden Books about the Pokey Little Puppy & the Little Engine That Could. The original Tom Swift books from the 1920s that had been my Dad's. Woofis The Wooly Dog, Black Beauty, Smokey A Cowpony, Bobbsey Twins, and just about anything I could get my hands on. I still read two to three books a week and just finished the latest Harry Potter.

Going alllll the way back, i remember Peter and Jane from when i was oh idk, 3?

And i remember Peter Rabbit and Enid Blyton and Siri Salma, which was Nancy Drew translated into Malay! And ofcourse there was Goosebumps and Fear Street and choose your own aventures.

After that i got into the Classics: Little Women, Swiss Family Robinson, Around the World in 80 Days etc. Which led me to fairytales: Hans Christian Anderson,Grimm Brothers.
Quite the contrary to an average reading material progression eh?

Then at 14, i first laid my hands on Stephen King. Reading has never been the same.

I had this Mother Goose book that had a bunch of short little stories. My mom just found it not too long ago and gave it to me to read to my son.
My favorite story was Little Lucy Lady Bug...

Little Lucy Ladybug
How do you take a bath?

Oh, I have a lovely bathtub
Beside my garden path.
It is a yellow buttercup,
And when it fills with rain,
I jump into my yellow bath
And jump out clean again.

Little Lucy Ladybug
Where do you go to bed?

Oh, I have a lovely bedroom
Where I lay my little head.
It is a pretty daisy,
And its sheets are sparkling white.
My pillow is a golden puff
I sleep on through the night.

Little Lucy Ladybug
Who cares for you each day?

Oh, I have a lovely Someone,
And I'll tell you, if I may...
He is the Heavenly Father,
Who made my bath-and bedroom, too;
And kindly watches over me,
And cares for me...and you!

My Side of the Mountain. I literally read the cover off that book and loved every reading of it.

The other ones are the books in the Great Brain series. I am looking forward to my kids getting old enough to enjoy those.

I loved the Bug Book series. They were two stories in one, always taught a valuable lesson, and always started out with a poem that I can remember to this day. They were so creative and cute. I still have all of the books!

I remember this book I checked out of Scott Lake Elementary School Library when I was in 3rd or 4th grade about a mermaid.... I don't remember the name but I do remember it sparked my love for reading. I also remember a story about these (7?) chinese brothers who looked exactly alike & one got into trouble & was sentenced to death, when they tried to kill him, they couldn't because everytime they tried something different a different brother would come with a different talent. Again I can't remember the name. I remember reading Dick & Jane with their dog, Spot. Oh yeah, HIGHLIGHTS!!!! I loved the interaction with that publication!!!!
