I think they should be able to. They are human beings. They love and care for people just like any other straight person. Why should the government have the right to take away any ones rights to get married. I believe the only state that has legalized Gay and Lesbian marriages is Massachusetts.

Marriage is two issues. it incredibly is a rite finished in a church with non secular which ability, and as properly a civil contract sharing wealth, teenagers, and an outstanding style of others. people who are not married will could be able to circulate into an an same civil contract, like case in point 2 widows who desire to purchase an area of abode jointly and be companions yet no longer constantly sexual companions. it incredibly is basically a topic depend of equality below the law. i think we agree on that area. you will call that 'civil union' or 'civil marriage'. yet in addition, i understand there are gay-friendly church homes. If some church decides that it incredibly is theology enables gays to marry, then how would the state intervene with that? Does the state have the appropriate to declare that church homes can no longer define 'marriage' for themselves? wisely, Christians who say a marriage desires to be between a guy or woman and a woman, who're they to tell -different- church homes what they do no longer look with a view to do?

I am a gay man but I do not believe in “Marriage System” so the answer is yes but no.
I believe anyone who is straight or gay or lesbian who are in a loving relationship and living together for a year should be able to receive “domestic partnership”. Right now because of “marriage system”, my sister is marrying to her boyfriend for their new borne child. They love each other and maybe that should be natural path? But I know there are straight people out there who do not believe in marriage to get better benefits and tax exempt.
Why do we have to get married to receive benefits?
If we push Gay Marriage issue then everyone must be married to get “marriage benefits” instead, we should push “Civil Union” for everyone including straight non married couples.

Couples should be allowed to be happy. the gay couple that lived next 2 me for 8 years were nice ,quiet and well behaved while 3 married couples on the street divorced.
But if either one gets sick the other has no right to make medical decisions or inheritance factors.

I believe what the Bible says about homosexuality even tho I don't agree with it so i don't believe they should marry like hetero couples do but I believe they should be allowed to form partnerships to make their unity legal so their rights as a couple are protected so they can inherit and such things as that. San Francisco allowed that years ago and I think it is the best solution to the marriage issue and if people would just do it that way we wouldn't have to bother with all the current bull crap in the media these days.

I believe that gay and lesbian couples should be able to get married. I don't see what difference it makes. If two people love each other and are committed to each other I think they should have the right to marry.

Everyone should be allowed to get married to everyone....and I am basing this on the opinion that marriage without children should not be called marriage, should be called a civil union. Once you have kids (irregardless of how you acquire them), then you are married according to legal terms. This would alleviate alot of problems and bring the "marriage" concept into the 21st century.

Civil Union- Yes. Civil Unions are contracts recognized by governments. It is not fair to abridge adoption, property, insurance and estate rights because of gender identification, sexuality or preference.
Marriage- Marriage is a religious right, and it is up to each church or denomination as to whether a same sex couple should or could be married.
A same sex couple could marry in a church as long as the church sanctions it, but a church should not be forced to marry a same sex couple if it objects.
Regardless of whether there are states, cities or other jurisdictions that recognize it, the federal government does not. Federal statutes would have to be interpretted or change to give same sex couples the same rights in all states.

I don't know which state it is legal in, but I really believe it should be legal, I mean I don't see why two people no matter what preferance they may have should be able to have the same privelages as any married couple. I hope they get the law to pass in all states soon, People are supposed to have equal rights, and that takes away the freedom of love and marriage, in my opinion anyways

Where have you been? Everyone knows that Massachusetts is the only state where it is legal. And this being the GLBT section I think you know where we stand on the issue of should we be allowed to marry or union.
