I got the same onboard graphic card that shared my ram, but when i install a new graphic card, the memory automatically restore back into my ram. Try getting another 512 ram to make your computer faster and smoother

Hello; Mr Gore.... If you are correct, and have a system that came with onboard video & shared RAM, and you recently purchase a video card... well you need to disable the shared RAM in the BIOS setup... it sounds like you already shut off the built in card, but you also need to shut off the shared RAM feature.

I hope this nails it for ya!

Yes BUT ONLY if your bios has the option to disable the graphics card. If it does not, it will still use the memory.

It will be safer to buy more memory for your computer and make your computer run faster.

i suggest you leave it one and get additional ram... it never hurts and the thing is that more programs are requiring more and more ram.
