That say you could be entering a UK and Ireland site where the word 'football' has a global meaning and not a colloquially American meaning. It really pisses us off.

I think the anger my question generates makes my point. Little America can't deal with big world, it makes them insecure

The solution is for the US to stop calling their dialect English but to refer to it more correctly as American. Websites, literature, theatre and the corrupted versions of history that emerge from Hollywood could all then be headed 'American'. This would avoid misunderstanding and frustration.

Is that like the game played in schools in Britain for hundreds of years called rounders and the in America is called baseball ? Are they not more or less the same game ?
