-and of course the shining, totally forgot about it!!!! jack nicolson absolute star in that film!

I'm with Hannah S with Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption. I often wonder if they'll ever get round to making the Dark Tower series into films - they'd be up there with Lord of the Rings wouldn't they?
Also, the Stand wasn't too badly adapted, although the Shining seemed to miss the point of the book but was a good film in it's own right.
Shall I shut up now?

Misery, or The Shining! I've watched Misery all the way through and it was good, but I cannot sit and watch The Shining cos it scares me too much! If someone was with me then I could probably sit all the way through it but I live on my own and am a wuss! lol:(

I totally agree with you. The green mile is a beautiful and sad film. I cried at the execution scene. And misery scared the hell out of me. Cathy bates was fantastic.

It has definately got to be The Shining. Jack Nicholson is absolutely awesome!!!! They did a remake a few years ago and it was completely pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta agree the others u mention are all excellent anorl. Plus The Stand!!!

have to be 'the shawshank redemption'... ok not a novel but a short story..but a fab fab film... the green mile was the best novel adaptation
