Well, I have to say that Lesnar wasn't exactly a fan favorite. From what I read awhile back, Lesnar was at the end of his contract and the fans weren't embracing him very well(it's a popularity contest in the WWE), so the WWE released him. After trying out with the Vikings and not making the team he was, I heard, was wrestling. I just read that he defeated Kurt Angle to win a championship over there in Japan.
But I guess it's really up to Vince McMahon who he wants working for him in his company.

Because the lawsuits, WWE sued him, he sued WWE. He wasn't supposed to compete in sports until 2010 but he violated the no compete clause and just went and wrestled in new japan in 04, finally in 06 both parties settled. Don't expect to ever see him in a wwe ring again.

Because he wanted too much money.
WWE wanted him back and he wanted to go back, but bickering about the contract led to both sides severing ties.

At this point nobody in the WWE will touch him. He's too big to not draw roid attention.
