I guess that it's possible (in the grand scheme of the magnitude of theories, I mean). Especially since if we are really living in the past, literally, our "future" would have much greater technology and perhaps "they" have figured out a way to travel back in time that we, in this lifetime, could not. You never know! Good thinking! Keep up the cook work and stay off the drugs!

Years of science fictions stories have conditioned us to think that we are a primitive and non-technologically-advanced species. What if we are the *most* technologically advanced planet in the universe, hm?
We can neither prove nor disprove that non-terrestrial species exist at this point in time. Too many cases of UFO sightings are merely people seeing what they want to see. Coupled with the fact that memories can fade or become corrupted after only one month makes eyewitness testimony non-credible much of the time. Finally, many accounts of "alien abduction" sound surprisingly similar to the well-documented cases of anesthesia awareness (a particularly nasty phenomenon).

Interesting theory, I'm not sure I understand you though, a light year is the distance light travels in a year - a truly vast distance, it is theoretically impossible to travel at the speed of light. Yet supposed theories of space travel assume that the speed of light can be surpassed, there is no proof of the existence of wormholes.

that is not a theory, is an hypothesis. a theory is a known set of rules, which were proven truth. an hypothesis is a guess that you later would try to prove. But it it makes much more sense than other hypothesis, conjectured by those conspiracy wackos. That would explain why these aliens would try not to be detected, as it would alter the flow of events and produce (maybe) catastrophical events in their present (our future).

You can't measure distance in time, time is not like a river or a road. we can only keep records of past events and we can see things as they were in the past but these are only images, even your TV screen shows an image that took time to reach your eye.

our current understanding of the universe does not allow for time travel backwards on a macroscopic scale.
