The atmosphere is theoretically a blanket of air covering the earth.
Here are the different levels of it
Troposphere: this is the first level of the earth's atmosphere. it's Altitude is from 0 feet above sea level to about 10 Kilometers in elevation. I'd say that this is the most active level of the atmosphere, Clouds, storms form here. Temperatures range from 100 degrees to -100 degrees Fahrenheit here. The troposphere is a dynamically unstable zone due to the fact that its coolest part is above its warmest part. This unstable factor is one of the reasons that there is a lot of meteorological activity there.
Tropopause: this is the border between the Stratosphere and the Troposphere, Commercial jetliners generally fly here because this altitude is ideal for avoiding harsh weather.
Stratosphere: This is the second level of the atmosphere located right above the Troposphere. The Stratosphere's altitude is approximately 10 Kilometers-50 Kilometers above sea level. The key things about the Stratosphere is that lots of different ranges of temperatures occur here. This is primarily due to the fact that is is heated from above with absorption of ultraviolet and infrared radiation from the sun. As the altitude increases, so does the temperature due to the fact that the higher you go, the more radiation from the sun you get. The Stratosphere is a really cold place, The warmest place however is at the top, maxing out at 26 degrees F. Due to the fact that the coldest places of the Stratosphere are on the lower end or it, it is a dynamically stable zone.
Stratopause: is the border between the Stratosphere and the Mesosphere and is located approximately 50-55 Kilometers above the earths surface.
Mesosphere: is located approximately 50-90 kilometers above the earth's surface and is the level of the atmosphere that is least known about due to the fact that it is too high for airplanes to fly to, and too low for orbital aircraft to go to. Temperatures in the upper Mesosphere can fall as low as -150 degrees F. Millions of meteors burn up in this level of the atmosphere daily as a result of collisions with the gas particles here. This build enough heat to vaporize virtually all object coming toward earth. This level along with the Stratosphere are considered the "middle atmosphere". Noctilucent clouds form here in the southern and northern most parts of the earth.
Mesopause: the border between the Mesosphere and the Thermosphere. Nothing noteworthy about the mesopause
Thermosphere: This level of the atmosphere is by far the largest, stretching out from 90K to 500 kilometers above the earths surface. temperatures in the thermosphere increase with height due to the fact that there a lot of highly energetic solar activity at these heights by the small amount of oxygen still left. temperatures are higher reliant on solar activity and can rise up to 4200 degrees F. Radiation causes the particles in the air to become ionized enabling radio waves to bounce off there. At around 1000 Kilometers above the earth, its atmosphere blends in to space. The few particles of gas can reach 4500 degrees during the day, however a human would not feel hot in the thermosphere due to the fact that there is so little gas particles to hold the thermal energy. One notable thing about the thermosphere is that Aurora Boriales occur here.
Thermopause: This is the border between the Thermosphere and the Exosphere
Exosphere. this is the last level of the atmosphere before space, virtually no particles exist here, only trace amounts of hydrogen and helium, and they generally escape in to space. Satellites orbit here.

The gaseous envelope of the earth which rotates along with earth and is held to the earth by earth's gravity is called the atmosphere. It cotains mainly four layers. They are (1)troposphere where all the weather phenomeno occur,(2)stratosphere where temperature remains constant or increase slightly due to absorption of ultra-violet radiation of the sun by the ozone layer that is concentrated here,(3)mesosphere where the tmeperature again falls with height and (4)thermosphere where the temperature starts raising again.

They are both good. I think it is impossible to like one without the other as they are both representatives of the modern underground revival that is currently taking place. I dont view atmosphere as underground perse', however Blu started rappin' as a solo artist years ago and I have been a fan since he dropped verses on Mr J's album. Atmosphere are also great, yet their style is more aggressive sounding, (similar to eminem!??!!) they also tend to write a lot of songs about females. (mmmm) Blu & exile tackle the blu colla end of things (the struggle of life, being low selling rappers, battling, lack of lyricism in commercial hip hop etc) If I had to choose one Id choose atmosphere simply for the sad sad song about a fathers death "caved in".

A large envelope of gas surrounding the Earth about 100 miles thick, mainly NItrogen-Oxygen-CO2 which allows all Life on Earth to exist and protects us from harmful radiation from space.
