I could tell you, but I would have to kill you.
Haha but for real, it is the Central Intelligence Agency. It's the government institution that is responsible for gathering information around the world about various other countries. It has been glorified in movies as the agency that is responsible for spies; one would think of it as the American equivalent of James Bond's agency, MI6. It's up to them to find security threats and gather intelligence that could potentially be harmful to our nation. This, of course, isn't all that they do; it's just what I know of that they do.

Basically, they usually pose as consultants or something innocent looking in another country, and they gather information about the state and sentiments of the people in that country. They do counter-espionage and try to detect foreign spies, they analyze data indicating drug or weapon movements. Sometimes they try to keep a balance of power of opposing factions to prevent some entity from becoming too powerful.
The CIA operate the world over, not all are involved in tracking terrorists. They are America's eyes and ears to the far corners of the world.

They spy on any nation they can get into (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but will also keep tabs on US citizens (yes, it was the NSA more recently, but what makes you think the CIA isn't?).
They organize assassinations, kidnappings (and subsequent torture sessions), maintain black ops without the knowledge or express permission of the American public, and other various nefarious deeds.

Rachelle,
I strongly suggest you do some research and discover objectively for yourself who the "CIA" is and what they do. Depending upon what you are studying in college they may consider you for an internship.
The agency does a terrific job with lots of dedicated men and women like yourself committed to protecting the nation.
Best of luck to you!

Thought crime police; when persons do not conform to the popular consensus, they can imprison American citizens for not only thought crimes but violations of the patriot act. Put them in for a transfer to the healthcare sector quick before it spreads--if it does spread, call the CDC. It could be homegrown radicalism--there is another law that covers that 1955 homegrown radicalism act. Traditional American patriots reject most of this.
