As for why it's a scam? Go to ripoffreports.com and type in their name... see what comes up. Also you can google "John Robert Powers scam" and see what else you get. They've been sued by the estates of Lucille Ball, Henry Fonda, Marilyn Monroe & James Dean… they sued John Robert Powers for using their image and claiming they were former students who owed their success to the company (or some similar claim or inference). Many companies do the same by using photos of hot new stars... look carefully. Are there statements that say this person is our client or was discovered here? It may just be a photo to draw you in, nothing more. Just like their ads that claim that you will be auditioning for a Disney show like Zoey 101 or Hannah Montana... all lies.

Don't get taken in.

good luck!

The top agencies are in NYC.

From what I was told, legitimate modeling agencies, such as, Ford Models, one of the Top NYC modeling Agenices, do not make models pay for photographs. Once the model is booking modeling assignments and making money, the agency takes their commission from the money earned by the model.

they all do the same thing, just graduate, get some kinda proof (the certificate at the end, since it always looks good) and then get headshots and a portfolio and find an agent. there are talent agencies that sometimes hire people on the spot to be extras and such, hey, it's a start right? whatever looks good on your resume.
