Remember Eddie Haskell from "Leave It To Beaver", at this point, that is my 10 year old. My 5 year old professes his undying love for me and that I am the most wonderful Mommy ever.
Peace.

My children need to do nothing to return to my good graces. When they are disciplined they are told what they did wrong and that they are loved and forgiven all in the same lecture. I would never allow them to leave my side thinking they need to do something to make amends to my graces. They know what they need to do to fix the problem...be it an apology or a replacement or whatever. I lived the head games with my mom and they will not suffer that torture from me.

When our children do something wrong they are never out of our good graces. However, they opt to do laundry, clean bathrooms or dishes to set things right. This is very rare though. They're pretty good kids.

Well I usually Just try to get my chores done when Im supposed to and thats it. I dont really try to get on their good side I just try to stay away from their bad side more than i already have. Beyond that i dont do much. If they want to be mad at me than oh well. Unless of course theres something i want to go do-- then Im sweet as pie. Bet your glad Im not your kid?

My daughter is 3, and usually after she gets in trouble she'll just come sit by me being really quiet and giving me the puppy dog eyes, works every time too!

My son is two and already knows how to work his charm. He'll give me those big eyes and smile and say in a high pitched voice "Hi mama".

The two of mine that are old enough to speak say, "I love you, Mommy. I'm sorry, Mommy"
