Jealousy is normal. We all seem to want what others have, whether it's money, fame, talent, looks, etc. I will not lie and say that I've never been jealous. It happens to all of us at one time or another. The best way to get over it is to pinpoint what there is about you that you're really proud of, something that comes easy to you, but is difficult for others. Or something that's exclusive about you, some talent or hobby that is outstanding. I'm sure there's something about you that others admire and could be jealous of, also. Think of it that way. If you feel there is nothing about you that others could be jealous of, then develop something. Learn how to sing, dance, write poetry, do something different that no one would expect from you. Everyone has something unique about them. There are no two people alike on this earth. But there is nothing wrong with being jealous, as long as it's just a feeling. You don't have to be ashamed of that feeling. Finally, if you want some inside information, why not befriend the person you're jealous of. He or she might be able to give you some pointers on what it is that makes him or her stand out in a crowd. You'd be surprised how much you can learn from the object of your jealousy. Hope this helps a little. Good luck!

Yes!
Everyone gets jealous from time to time. Because someone's prettier or smarter or more talented or their life seems to be perfect while our own is a complete wreck. I think when it happens to you though, it's important to remember a few things.
1. Life goes in cycles. They might have it all together right now and you might be a mess, but later on you'll have it all together and maybe they'll be the mess.
2. Just because someone's prettier/smarter/more talented than you it doesn't mean that they are any happier. There is someone out there that they are jealous of too.

Drink and forget about it. You'll develop a drinking problem and the whole jealousy issue you are dealing with will become secondary. Just kidding?!?!?
The best thing that you can do is not worry about it and move on. Jealousy is waste of your precious time here on this rock so do whatever it takes to not be jealous.

I would think that jealously is fleeting. It goes away once you understand that there is nothing to be jealous of.
I felt jealousy when I could no longer have children when all of my friends and family were continuing to have children. I was hurt, jealous and sad. I got over it. You can too. If you are having real trouble with it, get counseling.

I would say that jealousy is a bad thing, but sometimes it can be a real eye opener to the things we want in life. Maybe, just maybe you're not supposed to "get over it." Maybe it is part of a tool that you subconsciously use to propel yourself into hard work, into thinking outside the box or even into dreaming about a future bigger than the one you see for yourself. Sometimes our weaknesses can also be our misguided strengths?

Really, jealousy is unnessacary, because noone is perfect. To be jealous of someone, that person would probably have to be perfect. Everyone has flaws. No matter how perfect they seem, they all have flaws. Bill Gates is 100% rich, but that dosent mean hes 100% happy.

Just try to be happy and secure with who you are. You know the grass is always greener on the other side, but nobody is perfect and we all have our demons.
There will always be someone more talented, smarter, better lookeing, etc. Just concentrate on yourself and maybe allow yourself to be inspired by others.
