I think he started the ball rolling and he is still seen as the hero in that end of the world. Capturing or killing him won't end the terror threat but it will make people feel that we are better at it.
And people get after Bush for not getting him because after Tora Bora, we didn't pursue as strongly, since we were ramping up for a war in Iraq. Had the tens of thousands of troops been on the ground in Kabul instead of Baghdad, it's conceivable that we could have found him or at least crippled the Al Qaeda movement so it would not be a viable threat. Instead we've played footsie with it and allowed it to restructure itself, heal and go deeper underground.

Osama is a threat that is implanted in the brains just for that specific mission which leads to war policies of some countries and getting benefit from that war !i wonder why CIA never tried to follow that track whcih brought those taps to Aljazira TV and if they wanted, osama would have been captured long ago..i am not sure even if he is alive today but he is "made" alive in the brains of the people and given a symbol of terrorism....terrorism is a disease and it would never end with the capture of osama...Osama is a single person while terrorism is a syndrom like things..its an idealogy.......one need to treat the cause and the cuase is that ideology which makes those terrorist believe that terrorism is justified on any ground...and Btw Osama is not in Pakistan in anyway..! if he were..what is Bush doing in Iraq and Afghanistan then?you see this is all confusing..i think Bush is hitting the wrong target and ofcourse for wrong reasons..War on terror is just a joke for me ! sorry they have no such intension to end that terror rather they would love to keep this terror alive for their gain !

Well, according to the thinking that capturing Osama will end the war, I think you would have to find his grave first and dig him up. The man was running around with a bad kidney and a dialysis machine. Unless he had a kidney transplant there is no way he is alive, you just don't live that long with a bad kidney.
Besides which, they are calling all different groups with the same name, so who knows who is the real group and who we are really fighting anymore. It's become a game with those who try and rule our country. They can't win, so they try and make it look like it's always turning the way that they want it to, which is never what it really is. This is a war like Viet Nam that never should have happened.

The terror threat will never ever end. But if we do not capture him, it will indeed get worse. As long as he's on the run he has no opportunity to regroup and gather his men to him to carry out the threats he's already made.
We can't abandon the war on terror or terror will become worse. It's that simple. We live in a f****** up world.

I think the American people would like to catch a criminal, I could just imagine if Clinton stated that he don`t spend that much time looking for Timothy McVeigh and he was still free. Iraq had nothing to do with 911 and I think that the Taliban should not be on the planet and that should of been our first priority and just bombed anything in Iraq that might have even looked like a weapon plant. It is up to the people to bring democracy to their own country.

Not sure that people feel the threat will be over, but it should be greatly diminished. Osama is the head of Al-Queda (spelling), and it would be a big blow to that organization if he was killed or captured.

this is one of the games of the bush administration. ossama was a great friend of the bush family , they also made business together. when bush attacked afghanesta, he let ossama slip out safely . now, he is a target, but he wont be caught so that the world would be kept waiting . osama and saddam were made by the american system as puppets to scare , as make belief wolves . when saddam became useless after the invasion of iraq, he was caught and killed . ossama has to remain alive till his killing would bring an end to this cowboy movie !

true that the threat is global but if you read this information on Bin Laden you will understand the importance of his capture/death to further the chances of peace (which are already very slim). I also agree w/ u that his capture wont end all violence but it will act as one of the large blood vessels to the heart of the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda being severed.

That is not the point at all. The point is that Osama is responsible for the deaths of 3000 Americans. He attacked us on our soil, and should be brought to justice for it.
The other real point is that Bush made such a huge deal about getting Osama "Dead or Alive." Then he gave up when he tricked us all into going into Iraq. My memory isn't so short that I don't remember all that former talk.
Are you saying that it's not worth it to get justice for the lives of the 3000 dead Americans who Osama is responsible for? Are you saying that you have no problem with someone attacking the U.S. on U.S. soil?

by not catching bin ladin the US is silently saying if you commit terrorism against us, we will never capture you. Is that what you want, america to look weak against terrorism and dumb for invading a country with no link to Osama or wmd's or even al quaeda before we decedided to occupy.
