Oh yes but we made our own crosses, we said a prayer, she also had little gold fish that died and we put them in a pill bottle and buried them in the back yard and said a prayer.

Just last week we had to bury a pet. The grave stone was home made (by my son). The funeral was a very serious event- complete with grief and tears. The arrival of a new pet has made things a little happier this week though.

not a funeral as would happen if we were to die, but whenever any of my animals die (mostly fish though there are a few birds there too) I have a private burial session in my moms garden and mark the spot with flowers.

My gran has an area of her garden marked out and fenced off which are the graves of 2 dogs, 2 cats and another 2 cats will be buried there given time.

There are plenty of pet cemetaries about though, and you can arrange a pet funeral for about £100 according to my mouses vet.

When my little cousin's cat died, we had a funeral for it. We buried it and put a headstone on there. The headstone was a large rock my uncle found and he helped her chisel the cat's name and DOB/DOD on there. I think it really gave her a sense of closure and support from her parents that her beloved best friend meant something and that her pain was valid. I know I plan to do something similar when I have children and their pet dies.

No, but I will someday, I am sure, complete with stones and a cross. i hope not for a long time though. His fish's name is flush and he has lived a lot longer than I expected! That event won't be as traumatic as say the kitty.

I don't have children, but I can remember as a child making my parents get a grave stone for a cat of ours that had died. My dad placed a huge rock over the cat's grave.

I don't have kids. But I attended the funeral of an adult friend's bloodhound, complete with cemetery plot and headstone. For my own pets, I opted for cremation.

My son is too young for that.

When my mom's cat died, she was buried in a wood box that my dad built with a gravestone made from cement.
