There's so many questions asking whether somethings in style or not. I don't get it. Why do you all care? What makes "being in style" so important?

Its the what makes the world go around.

Girls mainly want to feel like they fit in, a way to do so is to be in style.

We live in a materialistic world, girls want to be like that girl on the cover. What do they do? they go out and get her make up, her shampoo, her clothes.

Being in style is very important to some and not to other.

Sometimes, people don't want to be made fun of, they want guys to like them, or they just dont have enough courage to stand out and be different. so they just all look the same.

Well...for one thing, if they didn't then there wouldn't be a trend!

But in our world and really since the dawn of mankind, man has sought approval by looking or acting or talking a certain way.

You are deemed normal if you act according to cultural norms.
You are deem "stylish" if you dress according to cultural norms. Except these norms are dictated by the "fashonistas" rather than the community or the church or where we used to get other types of cultural identifying clues.

who knows. after you get out of college it doesn't matter anyways.

And today's oddity is tomorrow's trend. fashion and style are all subjective. and so is the interpretation of a trend. What is popular and trendy in milan or paris is totally different in NYC and LA.

And who sets the trends anyways? Has to start somewhere........

i wonder the same exact thing.
people are always telling me 'oh, this is in style now'
& i just think to myself 'who cares?'
people shouldn't follow trends.
if you like it then buy it or do it or whatever!

but i guess some people are afraid of not fitting in or being though of as a freak or weird or something.

Being in style makes u more "socially acceptable" in our culture. If you are not accepted then u are on the outside looking in and that isnt too much fun I imagine. Thats why!

Maybe the people who ask those questions are major fashion victims who really need to be dressed well at work. There are people who just don't give a **** (like myself). Or maybe it's just for fun. But nowadays, fashion seems to be more about "who's unique" and "who's wild" than "who's trendy."

I guess people are just a bunch of sheep. None wants to be
different than the most popular girl in school, or a T.V. personality. It takes a lot of courage to be ones own self and most of us don't have it. TO TELL THE TRUTH-- I DON'T EITHER.

I think a lot of teenagers post questions asking what's in, because they want to look cool. It's a ridiculous statement, but school is starting soon and they don't want other kids to make fun of them.

Because they have no sense of style. Their style is wearing what other people wear. If other people no longer weat it it is no longer in their style. Sad but true!
