Doc Adams was worried about Dottie Richards.... An elderly patient of his who was long over due for a check up. She was an onery old lady; Usually gave Doc a hard time. More than once it was suggested to Doc to just forget about her.... "That'll teach 'er, Doc, " was something many of the townsfolk had told him.
His reply was always the same....(4) "They say that revenge serves no real purpose but .........They're right, you know. Listen.......I am a doctor of medicine and I intend to help her for as long as she requires my services."
On this particular day, he had asked Matt Dillon, U.S.Marshal, to ride out to her place with him.
Doc: "You know, Matt. I feel so sorry for her. She's alone, poor health and very little money. I really think she's lost the will to live."
When they got there........"Whew! (2) What a dump. The poor soul has no one to help her with the chores. I am always trying to get her to move into town. (1) I'd say that the time has come to get her to do this, even if she puts up resistance....That's why I want YOU here,Matt. Maybe you can help me convince her."
Matt knocked on the front door as Doc gathered his medical kit, in his buggy.
Doc:"Is she home?"
Matt:"(3) I asked but no answer was forthcoming. I'll look around a bit."

The search finally led them to a garden ....Located down a path, to the left of the house.
Matt:"Will you look at that! This garden is beautiful." It was obvious that she had spent many an hour tending to it.
Doc:" You're (6) Right as rain, Matt. As far as I can figure, it is the ONE thing she loved on this earth.... Her garden. "
And then they saw her........ Stretched out on the ground. Matt
rushed to her side. "She's gone, Doc."
Doc stooped down and took her pulse......." Yep. She's gone."

Three people attended her funeral....Doc,Matt and Sunshine, Matt's girlfriend.
Doc:"How sad. How very sad. I wonder what she thinks of this; Only three peole paying their respects."
Sunshine smiled ....... "Doc. ...Where she is right now......Heck. She's not worried about anything anymore. She's got (5) Blue skies, nothing but blue skies, from now on."

This is more like a speech...

I'd say that the time has come to do away with our smarty-pantsed President. What a dump the last eight years have been! "Who are these stupid civilians who voted him for two terms?", I asked, but no answer was forthcoming. I know that I'm not one of them because I voted for the other guy, so that intellectual decisions could be made. What the HELL are we doing in other countries fixing others' problems when our country has its own problems that need attending to? They say that revenge serves no real purpose but kill people, cause much bloodshed, and break up families, ones that were vibrant before the war, but now leave wives widows, husbands widowers, children motherless or fatherless and even orphans. I wish for blue skies, nothing but blue skies. I wait for the day when this world and all its people will be able to live in eternal peace and harmony. The tears that people cry in sorrow for those dead and for those whose lives have been affected, they are just as wet and unstoppable, right, as rain on a sunny day....

I'd be glad to! It will be in rhyme form.
AHEM...

A Goofy Poem

I'd say that the time has come to write a goofy line.
About a man forced to work in a honey mine.
They dropped him in, he fell on his rump
Then he got up and said, "What a dump!"
He told me he heard some kind of humming
I asked but no answer was forthcoming.
He followed the noise and found some bees.
They stung him soundly from nose to knees.
They say that revenge serves no real purpose but feeling
But tell that to the man who is stuck to the ceiling.
He pounded and pounded, then opened his eyes.
And then he looked up again, and to his surprise
Blue skies, nothing but blue skies
He climbed out and ran til he had a pain,
but since he escaped, he's been right as rain.

"If you're one of those folks who love blue skies, nothing but blue skies, you must never use the expression "right as rain," am I right?" I asked, but no answer was forthcoming, other than the usual sigh of boredom.
He rose from the recliner and kicked the toys out of his way, muttering "what a dump!" as he entered the bathroom.
"What's that dearie, going to take a dump?" I asked cheerfully.
Again, no response, but the sound of the bathroom door being firmly closed and locked.
"Hmmmm," I looked at Guinness, my terrier, as he tugged at the fringe on the oriental rug. "Guinness, babe, I'd say that the time has come to re-evaluate my relationship with daddy."
Guinness looked at me, bottom teeth curved to make him look like he was constantly grinning.
He came out of the bathroom, grabbed the air freshener and sprayed liberally. Returning to the recliner, he pointed the remote and started his typical channel surfing.
I trotted down the hallway to the closet and wrestled the huge clumsy vacuum from its depths. Guinness grinned. I looked at him and whispered "they say that revenge serves no real purpose, but it sure feels good. Watch and learn."
I wheeled the vacuum into the living room, pressed the power, filling the room with its loud roar. "Sorry, dearie, you know I always to my chores at this hour." I sang, pushing and pulling across his view.
