i would not recommend it due to the risk of infections, early miscarriage, and other things that can go wrong but....
The main concern with getting a tattoo during pregnancy is the risk of contracting an infection, such as Hepatitis B and HIV. Although the risk is small, it is recommended that you wait to get a tattoo until after your baby is born.
You will be very interested to know that little information is available about the safety of skin dyes used for tattooing during pregnancy. It is possible that the chemicals in the dye may affect the development of the baby during the first 12 weeks, but the risks are unknown, as are any effects on the baby during the remainder of the pregnancy.
Some women may have also heard that if they have a tattoo on their back, then they will be unable to get an epidural. Very few studies have been done on the risks that could exist for women who have back tattoos and receive an epidural. So far none of these studies have conclusively found any data that shows that there are risks, so most anesthesiologists have no problem giving an epidural to a woman with a back tattoo. If you want an epidural and have a tattoo on your back, it still would be best to contact the hospital and find out the policy in regard to tattoos and epidurals.
The risk of contracting an infection is small, but you could pass the infection to your baby if you are breastfeeding. Ultimately it's your decision, but you may want to wait until you are not breastfeeding to get a new tattoo.
Please do not do it for your child's sake.

Your body's immune system is not normal and your tattoo may not "heal" properly. You may also run the risk of fainting during the procedure.

I hope this doesn't sound ignorant, but if you are two months pregnant, why would you want to get a tattoo on your lower abdomen? That's like wasting your money! In 3 months when your belly starts to grow, your tattoo will look like a stretched out mess! Save your money for the baby! Get a tattoo after your pregnancy!

There are a lot of clean and safe tattoo parlors, so I don't see the actual tattoo as irresponsible. However, you need to ask your doctor because I beleive the ink gets into your bloodstream, which means your baby will be exposed to it.
Is this your first child? Your stomach is going to get big enough to carry a 6 - 8 lb baby around - any tattoo you get is going to be ruined after you have the baby. Even if you don't gain a lot of weight your stomach is going to be stretched way out. If it's something for your baby, I'd just wait until after the birth.

Can I get a tattoo while pregnant or nursing?
It is not advisable to get a tattoo while pregnant or nursing, though it is unlikely getting a tattoo will hurt the fetus or nursing infant. The problem will be in the quality of the tattoo. While pregnant the body is working overtime and the tattoo will possibly heal harder and possibly result in a light tattoo. Additionally, while pregnant many women put on extra weight that will come off after the pregnancy. The extra weight will cause the tattoo to be distorted once the weight is lost. While nursing a woman's body produces antibodies that are to be passed to the infant. If tattooed while these extra antibodies are in the system the tattoo may heal harder and possibly result in a light tattoo. If your desire is to get the best quality tattoo I suggest that you wait until the pregnancy and nursing are completed and then get the tattoo. If you decide to go ahead and get the tattoo while pregnant or nursing please consult your tattoo friendly physician first. "

You need to call your doctor and ask. The ink is being injected under your skin and could possibly get into your bloodstream and then into the baby. At two months, the baby is still forming vital organs etc. I think I remember reading that tattoos where not safe during pregnancy, but I can't remember where. Even still, your abdomen is slightly stretched already (even if you can't see it) and that could alter the shape of the tattoo when your belly finally gets back to normal.

I would not recommend getting a tattoo while you are pregnant. There is a risk of infection.
If you are really serious about getting a tattoo a couple of months wont make any difference and if you change your mind your baby might have saved you from having to live with that mistake.

Wait until after the baby is born. You run the risk of infection with a tattoo (I don't care how careful they are) and then the baby could have a very serious problem. Wait. Besides if you get it now the tattoo will stretch out and become distorted. Not safe or smart.

S.S.I. denies pretty much everyone at least once. It took my sister 3 appeals to get hers and she's schizophrenic. So have hope and don't give up. You could also look into whatever low income housing is available in your area or get on housing assistance. Most counties have pregnancy centers where you can go and they can hook you up with any organizations that help with parents without a lot of financial resources. I applaud you by the way for not having an abortion. Good luck, and God bless!!

First of all there won't be a professional tattoo artist that will tattoo you when you are pregnant. There are health risks associated and it is not safe. Secondly why would you want to get a tattoo on you belly when you are pregnant anyways. I will look like crap if you do that now. Please wait until after you have the baby. For the baby's sake and for yours as well so you don't have a big blob on your belly.
