I am having my third boy and Im not gaining weight this pregnancy. I am 5'4''
With my first I weighed 120 and went to 174. (3 YRS LATER)
With my second I was 142 and went to 163 (13 mths later)
I lost all my weight, went to 128. Decided to stop going to the gym and not to diet because we were going to try for another. I weighed 139 when we found out I was pregnant.
Now I am 27 weeks along and I have only gained 4 lbs. My midwife asked me if I have been feeling ok and I have. She also asked me if I have been trying to not gain and just eating very healthy, and I havnt... IM MORE A PIG THEN EVER! LOL
Everywhere I go people barely notice im pregnant or they comment to me that for my third my belly should be huge by now. This makes me worried but my midwife says The baby is showing of perfect size that he is just growing more inside my pelvis then on top. Making my belly look smaller then those with smaller hips.
Anyone have this happen to them and still birth a healthy baby?
TY

Thank you all.
I do feel alot better. It was hard to choose just one person as having the best answer because you all had great answers.

(Not to sound rude but, I do think my midwife is just as good as my doctor. Sometimes better. She ran lots of tests and has given me lots of ultrasounds, even over little things. She shows more concern for me then my Doc EVER did but thanks anyway)
~Yes, I am planning on breastfeeding again. ;)
~Always taking my prenatal vitamin, even when Im not pregnant. lol
~ One of you mentioned how I used to workout...I think maybe I will try to get myself back into a light workout again...thanks for that thought!
~It was good to hear one of you are in the exact same weight gain and as far along as I. That made me feel better and knowing your baby is measuring bigger. awesome!
LAST THING~
I am going to stop listening to everyone who keeps talking neg. and making me worry because that alone is stress I dont need. THANK YOU AGAIN.

Your body will provide for your baby before it provides for itself. Its more likely that since you went from 128 to 139 that your body has lost the difference and the baby and uterus has gained it, sort of evening things out.

My mother lost 60 pounds, SIXTY with her third. She couldnt digest or swallow for the whole pregnancy. DOctors didnt know why or what to do. She gotso incredibly thin, and her belly was so incredibly small.. yet my brother was the fattest healthiest baby of all of us. 9 pounds, and not lacking a thing.

Dont worry about it. Just take your prenatal.

I am on my 4th pregnancy, and I have only gained about six or seven pounds at 24 weeks. Typically I gain 25 to 27 pounds per pregnancy. I have stayed relatively active through this pregnancy, for the most part; continuing to go to the gym is a GOOD thing, by the way; consider going back. It will do wonders for your stamina and help you weather the strain on your back, legs, hips, etc. from pregnancy.

For me, this has been by far my most active pregnancy; I have tried hard to stay fit, but like you, haven't exactly been sticking to a diet plan. :) I think that my more recently acquired athleticism has helped me not to gain too fast. Then again, this is my first boy, and from what others have told me, that can make a difference in the way your body reacts to pregnancy. Not sure about the truth of that, but that's what I hear.

My baby is very active and everything seems to be going well. I'm sure you're doing fine; stay healthy and active, and have a blessed pregnancy! Best wishes.

I'm 36 weeks and I only gained 4lbs. My stomach is a good size and the baby is fine the doctors say. I have lost some weight on my legs and arms (hardly noticeable) and the doctor says its all going towards my stomach....If the doctor was the slightest bit concerned I would be but both my GP and my obstratrician are fine. My baby is growing each visit.

HOw many weeks are you? I am sure if there was a problem your doctor would have mentioned it! I am 27 weeks with my 5th baby and have only gained 4 lbs, so don't worry and last time I was measured my baby was measuring a week ahead. Just make sure you are eating healthy.
** Sorry, I see now that you are 27 weeks also!

From what I have read the medical profession considers this to be too much. Even for an underweight woman the recommendation is 28 - 40 llbs. But I have heard of alot of women gaining this much and more, as long as your doctor hasn't said anything about it, and you have not experienced any complications, then I think you are okay.

As long as your baby is growing as it should and youre healthy, who gives a crap what other people say or think. Youre not doing anything wrong. Just tell people to mind their own business.
