It is very likely that our universe is in fact a logical system that would be possible to 'figure out', to at least some extent by us and possibly to its full extent by other beings in a different universe. Whether this system is primarily mathematical in nature or whether it uses other kinds of systems only loosely related to mathematics is difficult to say.
