Ok I am kinda worried I am 27 weeks pregnant and my husband and I had not been having sex for a while (like a month or so) well this weekend we had sex twice. Since then and some before I have been having alot of discharge. Not to sound gross but it takes a couple of wips to get it all cleaned off well, i was wondering if this is my mucus plug or just and effect of the sex thanks for the hellp

Usually with your mucous plug there will be blood. I lost mine throughout the day and everytime I went to the bathroom there was blood mixed with discharge. I had the same concern when I was pregnant. The further along you are the more discharge there will be. At the end I had to change my pad very often because it got so heavy. Call your doctor and ask, better safe than sorry. But heavy discharge is very common especially the further along you are.

If it helps, a mucus plug looks just like mucus is a dark green color with some pink lines. It could be from the sex or you may have a vaginal infection. Mucus plug is not a lot of discharge is about the size of a quarter. Maybe you should call your doctor.

Its just the sex, and the naturally occurring extra mucus your body produces when pregnant.

Totally and completely normal. The more you're pregnant the more discharge, (of varying thickness and textures) you will produce. Eventually you might want to end up wearing a panty liner all day.

Its perfectly normal.

Holy crap these people are going to freak you the hell out.

Your mucus plug is super thick and snot like, and will have streaks of blood in it. It can be passed in whole, or in parts over the course of a few weeks. Its not like anything you have ever passed in your whole life, its very very chunky and super thick. I started losing mine at 34 weeks, but went full term at 40, and it wasnt until i was in labor for the first 37 hours that I finally lost all of it.

when your pregnant you do have an increase in vaginal discharge, so it would not be uncommon to have that. I am 36 weeks pregnant and just lost my mucus plug. it looked like it was a really big chunk of snot (sorry for the description). I called the doctor and they said it was the mucus plug. you will definitely know if it was your plug or not because its the strangest thing to see! If you are worried call your doctor, if they have any concerns they will ask you to come in. Good luck!

the further along we get into pregnancy, the more discharge we expell. (As if you thought you didn't have enough)! I was told a mucus plug looks just like snot. Actually my doctor said that it can fall out bit by bit, all at once, or some women don't even notice it has fallen out. If you are really concerned call your doctor. i dont think sex would cause this, however the doctor could answer you better.

I had a lot of discharge at the end, but when my mucus plug came out there was blood with it and it didn't come out little by little (yeah it was gross.) Best advice is just to call your Dr. and ask a nurse what they think.

I dont think its your mucus plug because it wouldnt be clear and ive never heard that happening at 27 weeks. I'd call a doctor though and ask. as long as your not cramping or bleeding I wouldnt worry.

You should call your doctor and get in there ASAP. There is no way for any of us here to know for sure. It sounds like it could be, but could also just be discharge. Make an appointment with your doctor. Better safe than sorry.

My mucus plug with my second child was lost at 26 weeks... but he was born premature. It might be the mucus plug and a sign that your baby could be born premature.
