I thought I might be pregnant... hoping, actually. My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years and 1 month now. I already made a doctor's appointment for the 21st of this month.

I was spotting and was hoping that it was due to implantation, but this happened all weekend long (I was due for my period on August 2nd). Finally, this morning, the pink turned to red, although the flow isn't the same as usually, it's lighter. Anyway, I doubt I'm pregnant this time and don't want to take a test because the disappointment would kill me right now.

My question is, when should I start a new BBT chart?

Since today you started red flow, today would be Day 1.

If your temps are still elevated, you know you could be pregnant. If you have elevated temps this week, I would go to a doctor for a blood test.

Good luck!!

You should start a new one now. Today would most likely be your first cycle day and you want to start temping on CD 1 so that you have an average temperature for the first 14 days pre-ovulation. I had the same thing happen last month where i spotted for a couple of days (hoping it was implantation) but then started a heavier flow on the 4th. Turns out i wasnt pregnant but hopefully this month i am! I hope this helps and the best of luck to you!

I start my new chart at the first sign of any vaginal bleeding (pink, red or brownish). I was told to do this each month by my doctor. I have read some comments on here that women wait until their heavy day to start a new chart, but my doctor said that can be hard to determine because it can vary from month to month. So I would start your new chart on the first day of spotting. Other than taking a test I don't see any other way of knowing if you are pregnant or not or you could wait until you see your doctor.

Cycle day 1 is the first day of red flow, so today in your case. Today would start a new BBT chart. If you use a program like fertilityfriend, when you enter the data for your period it will automatically start a new chart.

You could be pregnant still. It is normal to have some kind of bleeding during your first trimester. It should be light then taper off. Have you talked to your doctor about fertility help?
