never what I really want or what makes me happy. I am just realizing I need to be very specific, when I ask for something and even then I need to be careful. Why?

Because you don't ask for what you need...you ask for what you want.

Well, look at the things you like. Hobbies or your dream. For example, I dream is to become an astronaut so I would ask for a telescope. Ask for the things you really want...all the way from your heart. Money is not for useless things that don't make you happy. You know, there are millions of kids in Africa and Asia that could have used that money. All I am saying is, ask for things that you can have all you life and never ask for anything like that again.

I think the real answer to your question is "Ask someting from you heart and prove that your heart is right. Better yet donate that money to the poor and homeless"

When you "ask" for something, you are placing a suggestion in your conscious mind to "look out for it. So you are more aware of that special something when you come across it. This is the power of suggestion in advertising and self-hypnosis. Constantly reminding oneself of buying a certain item, seeing a certain movie, not eating or smoking can change ones behavior for the good or not so good. Some athlete's can train better by capitalizing on such suggestions and taking it to the next level. you really have to know yourself, you abilities, your strengths and weaknesses and how your live interacts with others to figure out how to use this power to the best of your true ability.

A material object never gives the happiness your looking for , It has no heart , and that is where happiness comes from. It can not be bought it is achived by unselfishly giving from your own heart.

People tend to be happiest with and most proud of the things they feel they have worked hard to obtain. If everything you think you want is given to you just by asking, it won't be long before you are unhappy with it.

Who are you asking? Your parents? Your spouse?

You are not happy with the thing you get because happiness does not emanate from material things.
