Academic question really - the Scots always have been incapable of winning much other than the drinking competition and punch-up after the match.

If the Scots had been there, the battle would never have started - the Scots would have been in the nearest boozer hammered out of their heids !

While the Scots have a reputation as hard fighters, I don't think they'd have won at Gettysburg. After all, it was a war between Americans, and we get a mite testy if outsiders interfere--I think it would have had the effect of uniting the Rebels and the Yanks against a common foe.

It took the Scots 31 years to be free of the English, from William Wallace to Robert Bruce. It took the Americans 8 years to be free of Great Britain. Do the math, tuck your little skirts up and go play with the other little chaps.
