it seems to me that only about 5% of any media is going to be good, whether it be action/drama/comedy movies, rap/metal/country, tv sitcoms, documentaries, youtube vids, you know... all media. past that a majority of everything is pretty much crap.

Every country has it's amateur directors and producers which causes a stupid movie. True, there are many "stupid American movies" but don't forget that the American movie industry is amongst the most productive if not the most important.

I have yet to see any country produce only Good or Great movies. Every movie appeals to some and not to others no matter if they are made in the USA or some other Country.
Grow up. Just because you have the ability to speak does not mean what you say is worth hearing...

I think there are good movies and bad movies, no matter where they come from. But, there's a lot of remakes around that were foreign movies and now are made as "American movies". Also, what you define as "stupid" is relative. Usually, I watch movies to disconnect from reality. Reality sucks. So, crazy, imaginative and sometimes "stupid" movies are needed. I know we are getting too many crappy movies, but if you want reality, watch the news.

Like the movies from anywhere else are not stupid? Right! Wake up dear, there's good ones and bad ones everywhere. Its not the country making the movies, its a person,duh!

Some Mainstream American flicks are. But the world is a big place there are other places to look besides the radio and big movie theaters. Try Indie flicks.

every country has some good and bad movies. but i dont have the effort to defend movies because its just a waste of time

well, anyone who has ever watch an old godzilla movie and watched the "monster" tramp across the screen with a visible zipper might put us one notch above Japanese movies, so at least I dont think we're on the bottom.
