I've seen the movie Field of Dreams, and in one scene a player named Moonlight Grahm plays. Someone told me that he actually existed, but i don't believe him. Is he right?

He is listed in BaseballReference.com

One career at bat is his only statistic for 1905 NY Giants

Yes, he did exist. Just like in the movie, Moonlight Graham played with the N.Y. Giants for one game in the outfield, and never got up to bat. . . .

Yes he did. An author noticed his stat, one appearance in a game, and incorporated him into a fiction novel, Shoeless Joe, which was later adapted into the movie Field of Dreams.

Oh yes, he was real, although the film version "revised" some of the facts regarding his cuppa-coffee career, for dramatic purposes.

There was a really good article in 2005 on the 100th anniversary of his one game... I'll see it I can dig it up.

Edit: not the article I remember from two years ago, but still pretty good, with a couple of accurate notes about Graham's game. http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050629&content_id=1108281&vkey=news_min&fext=.jsp&c_id=min
