My daughter will be 1 in 2 weeks, and her pediatrician told me to begin giving her whole milk. She was fine for the first 3-4 days, but now she gets really acidic diarreah. IS this normal, or could she be lactose intolerant? She was breastfed, and at 7 months was switched to formula with no issues.. Does this sound like lactose intolerance to any of you?

No, probably not - especially if she was on a milk-based formula. What it could be is either her body adjusting to the milk or she could be teething - I've had parents tell me when their child is teething they get FOUL diarrhea. If you didn't mix the milk with formula, it really could just be the way her body is processing the milk.

Could be lactose intolerance. Although depending on how long it's been going on she could just have a flu bug too. If it happens within an hour or so after drinking the milk I would definitely call your doctor and express your concern.

Did you switch her 'cold turkey'? or did you transition her?

My baby was on soy formula and we mixed 1/2 a bottle of formula with whole milk until we ran out of our stockpile of formula.

Shes been on straight whole milk for months now and hasnt had any issues.

It is normal for the BM's to change with the change to full milk. It may take a week or so. As long as she isn't breaking out with rashes or having a running nose along with the diarrhea. If she is fine with eating and not dehydrated.
