I sent a letter to Carrie Underwood, and I got a post card back. I asked for the picture to be signed, but didn't get it back. I am part of her Fanclub that costed 30 dollars, and they send you an autographed picture along with stickers, a shirt, and much more. But i guess it depends on the celeb. I hope that I helped. And she reads all of her fanmail. She told us in one of her blogs so yeah.

Celebrities tend to have PR departments that handle fan letters for them, and they supply these people with thousands of signed photos of themselves so the people in charge of fan mail can just slip them into an envelope upon request. Here's a word of caution for you, though- many celebrities don't actually sign the photos themselves. Some of them just have a signature stamp that the fan mail people can slap on the picture, and others actually just let other people forge their signatures for them. The only two autographed pictures I ever sent for (Jason Priestley and Dean Cain circa the Superman show- shut up!!!) were both just postcards with stamped-on signatures. I kept them, though, and made my friends jealous, LOL.

Your going to lose out either way. Even if you send a picture they will just have someone else sign it or they will send you one that already has been signed by an assistant or a stamp. The only true way to get a real autograph is in person while you watch. Sorry to burst your bubble.

You could send your own picture. Maybe you could get a pic out of a magazine or book. If its a person in music maybe ask them to sign a CD.

well it depends, i know i send cards and ect to sports player the most advice is to hit em while there young. Like now would be a good time to get Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Bros. Trust me when i send stuff sometimes it takes a few weeks, sometimes a few months, and sometimes a few years.

omg this is so my question. yay! no you dont. once i got Kelly Clarkson's address out of a back of a magazine (ya know how they do that) and i asked for an autographed pic of her. It took like 3 months, but she sent me a black and white shiny pic of the cover of her album, and signed it!
