i was wondering how can i choose the right clothes for me. im a 25 yr old med student and i just cnt see myself wearing the same type of clothes since college (cargo pants etc..). i'd like to take out half of my closet and put on new stuff including shoes etc... and where do i shop these things? i still prefer the preppy look though. maybe just a little improvement would do. haha!

Watch the show on the tlc channel What not to wear and other fashion shows on t.v. Check out magazines, department store mannequins, and people watch for ideas. You can shop anywhere,J.C penny,Sears,Kmart,Walmart or any small boutique for special items(tops and accesories).Ask your friends where they shop.Payless has all kinds of shoes or any other shoe store will do.Best of luck at school,we need more people in medicine.

1) Go to oldnavy.com & check out their "wear to work" & "shop by outfit" features to get ideas.

2) Link to websites for men w/ fashion features: http://www.askmen.com/fashion/index.html
http://men.style.com/gq
http://mensfashion.about.com/

Take a look at these sites & see what resonates w/ you. You don't have to change yourself completely all at once. Try upgrading your shoes to more fashionable leather lace ups or loafers. Try a pair of well cut trousers in cotton, gabardine or corduroy. Pick out 1-2 button up shirts or more sophisticated tees.

3) Good places to shop: www.zappos.com for shoes, www.landsend.com for menswear - esp. sales & overstocks section, Brooks Brothers - outlets are the best, Nordstrom's, & Banana Republic
