Thank you so much for all the great answers - there are a bunch of things for me to try! I'm excited to finally be able to wear white t-shirts and not ruin them.

Deodorant and Perspiration Stain Removal
Yellow underarm shirt stains are likely caused by a combination of deodorant and perspiration. Many deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum salts. When these salts are combined with laundry detergent, especially in cooler water settings, they are not easily dissolved, and they remain on the fabric.
To remove the stains, try soaking the shirts in warm water with an enzyme pre-soak product or rubbing the soiled area with white vinegar. Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric. If the stain remains, dampen and sprinkle stain with meat tenderizer. Let stand for about an hour, and launder again.
To avoid new stains from forming, always wash the shirts in the hottest water safe for the fabric. Also, allow antiperspirant to dry completely before dressing..:)

try soaking shirts in water and bleach ( about half a cup to gallon of water) for about 15-20 mins. Then run them through a reg. wash with soap. If that doesn't work try oxy clean. you can get that at most grocery stores.

I've have that happened to me and I use Spray-n-Wash. It's in a green bottle and I get mine from Wal-mart. Also for grease stains on clothing try using oven cleaner. (don't leave it on for a long time) or it will discolor the clothing. It don't have to be expensive either. I buy the cheap stuff and it works. Sometimes when you use the oven cleaner on stains, it might not all come out the first time so try and try again.

I use bleach with all my whites. 1/4 cup for small loads up to 1 cup for large loads. Another thing to use is a laundry booster like Borax. I use it in every load of laundry that I do. Anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 cup per load.

Stop wiping your butt with your t-shirts. That would be a good start.
