Global warming, universal healthcare, socialism, appeasement.....

THOSE are the pressing, urgent issues in this post-global cooling world.

Typical cons so concerned about protecting our nation when a tree hasn't been embraced in years.....

None of the issues you listed are more important than National Security. Global Warming is not proven to be "man-made," and the other items are just more liberal welfare programs. Socialism only attracts more "less-desirables."

If we are dead then everything else really doesn't matter.

You are very nieve and not very well informed about the world or what is truly important.

1) Global warming is not an issue. First off, we don't know what is causing the planet to warm or if it is indeed warming overall. If it is warming we don't know why and the warming is nothing to be concerned about. The planet has cooled & warmed over its' history so we should not expect this to change. This is certainly NOT a top priority for our time energy or resources.

2) Socialism - this is a problem, especially in the United States. Our government is going too far to the left, becoming too large, taxing too much and controlling too much. I will agree with you on this, assuming this is what you meant.

3) Healthcare - we need to make sure the government stays out of this. Our current system is great and could be much, much better if there was even less government involvement and more competition. The federal government & state governments have a multitude of healthcare programs for people (not just "low income" either). Many of these programs are not even being fully utilized by citizens and some states are advertising and trying to get more people to use them. There is absolutely no overwhelming healthcare crisis in this country and this is NOT a high priority.

4) Appeasement? - I'm not sure what you mean by this, especially since your opening remark stated that you don't feel terrorism is a big issue. Do you mean we should appease our enemies? If you don't want us finding & destroying our enemies and you don't want appeasement, then what do you propose?

Where would you rank terrorism on the list of issues? Do you think it is important for us to address the issue? Do you think it is important for Americans to be safe at home and abroad? Do you think there is a fanatic, facist, Muslim terrorist population that wants to destroy Americans and others that do not believe in their religion?

And, what do you mean by not embracing a tree? Do you mean giving it a hug or do you mean not taking care of our environement? It is simply a falicy to say the United States is not environmentally conscience. Our technologies have improved our efficiency and lowered our pollution tremendously over the decades. We are more environmentally friendly than any other large industrial nation in the world.

Again, I think you should reconsider your uninformed position and study up a little more.

Good luck and God Bless America.

That's right. Burn the constitution in case some nut case blows up a building. Give up everything that made this country what it is because nobody was smart enough to act on the intelligence they had at their disposal to prevent 911.

Protect us until we are fish in a bowl and do it in total disregard of the Constitution without warrants. Worry with every administration change because you know they are not legally bound nor given oversight on the activities engaged in to "protect" us. Or will they use their dictatorship in other ways that will destroy us from within. If you don't see THAT threat, you aren't thinking past being called unpatriotic or siding with the terrorists. Not to mention the fact that conservatives don't want to talk about how long we can afford all of this. China might get tired of footing the bill.

Forget the needs of the citizens. We'll be alive. What's the difference if we ignore the need to get off of oil or the needs of people who lose their homes and go bankrupt because of illness. What do you call supplement D to social security? That's not socialism because the republicans did it. Right? People better start forgetting about lib and con stuff and start looking at the issues real hard.

Conservatives have their point of views, and you have yours. everyone's point of views vary. Although I recognize that Global warming as a serious issue, and even health care. I see terrorism being more of an immediate threat to the freedom of this country. Healthcare has always been considered a problem since it was invented. Every candidate uses it as an issue and a policy, but nothing ever gets done about it, and yet, civilization keeps prospering.

Why can't be do both. My biggest concern is terrorism because I personally suffered economic losses due to the 9/11, everyone stopped traveling, going to amusement parks, having events, going to malls, etc. and many people were hurt by unemployment.

Isn't the first priority in your life your safety. Because without it, what else really matters.

Because unlike the idiot left I am more concerned with having terrorists blowing up a US city that the fact that the temperature of the planet might go up 1 degree in the next 100 years. It's all about priorities

i am not a con but i firmly believe that global terrorism is the biggest issue that is to be eradicated. almost all countries in the world like the us, UK, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, srilanka are facing the threats from religious and political terrorists. and as a result, several hundred people are being killed by them. al qaeda issued fresh threats to strike the us, uk and India. ALL THE PEACE LOVING PEOPLE SHOULD STAND UNITED AND DENOUNCE TERRORISM, WHETHER IT IS OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR STATE SPONSORED.

That is the only issue they think they can still have any chance of convincing people to go along with. When other issues are brought up they change the subject or resort to name calling or personal attacks because they know their stand on these issues are very unpopular. Given their true stand and how people generally feel they would simply lose more credibility and more elections. That is why they emphasize the war. It is one of the Karl Rove tactics.

I am a real tree hugging conservative but I have enough sense to know that I won't be hugging any trees if we don't have a grip on the terrorist situation! I agree these other issues are important but they won't be issues if our country is taken over or attacked!
