The Twins are only 4.5 games back in the Central, 4 games back in the Wild Card. Both the Indians and the Tigers are slumping a little and the Twins have 1 more game against Cleveland tonight which could narrow the deficit to 3.5 games, plus after that they go to Kansas City for 3 games. WHY DOES EVERYONE SEEM TO ALWAYS COUNT THE TWINS OUT?? mlb

I'm a Twins fan. I don't care if they count us out. What matter is how the records lay the last day. We proved that last year. Unfortunatly we haven't played well. We have inconsistant pitching and hitting. But we do have heart and that as we've proved in the past goes a long way and as you said we're still in it. Let people say what they want. I just laugh because they can't count us out.

I think people are counting the Twins out because they play in a tough division. I don't think the Tigers and Indians will continue slumping, so that means the Twins will have to finish ahead of both of them to win the division, or at least one of them to have a shot at the wildcard. The Yankees have been heating up and the Mariners are playing well, so it's going to be a tight race for the wildcard. Also, I don't think they have enough hitting to make the playoffs, and they didn't make any helpful moves at the trade deadline (they hurt themselves by trading away Castillo). The team morale is also not good, as you have the staff ace and leader Santana and others questioning management.

There are six AL teams with a better record than the Twins and the Blue Jays are only one game behind them. I would say the AL wild card will have 92 wins this year and the Twins would have to go 35-17 over their last 52 games to make it. Having played around .500 ball all year long and to finish this strong would be a long shot. I believe this is why many don't believe the Twins will make it this year.

I think that the Twins have been counted out this year because Detroit and Cleveland have been so good, and then Mauer was hurt. Now that he is back and the Tigers/Indians are coming back to Earth some, I can definitely see the Twins making some noise.

I am a big Twins fan, but with Terry Ryan trading Luis and then giving Cirrillo away he has stacked the odds against the Twins! We are not going to have enough offense to get to the promise land, an on top of that with Ryan not extending Hunter now we will end up losing him, too!

The Twins have a chance but they have to beat the Yankees awesome lineup to win the wild card, Detroit's awesome pitching staff, and Cleveland's unbelievable young talent!

With two months left to go any thing can happen but I highly doubt the Twins aren't going to the playoffs.

The Twins don't play in a large media market and no one seems to remember the surge of last season. While ESPN blabbers incessantly about the Yankees, the Twins have a comparable record.

No one is counting them out, but look at how the team is doing. The front office didn't do anything to help the team, they got rid of one of the better 2nd basemen in the game, and they're showing no interest in signing the one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. Are they a good team? yes of course they are but you have to have the personnel to make a late season push and the twins just don't have it.

Cause they're pretty much out. 4 games doesn't seem like a lot, unless ur behind teams like the Yankees, Tigers, and Mariners.

Twins r out. No pitching.
