Theres nothing wrong with her, dont force her to eat. Some children are just small.

My one friend has a 15 month old that is only 16 pounds.

The other has a 12 month old who is still a few ounces shy of 17 pounds.

They did tests and the child is fine, dont force her to eat. She's clearly not losing weight. Doctors try to mold all children into national statistics, the problem is, not all children develop or are the same. Genetics decide size and growth rates, so long as she is eating she is fine.

Dont stress over it just because the doctors make you feel like you should.

It may simply be the anemia. My daughter was very anemic and that can cause them to feel very nauseated and not hungry. She would hardly eat anything - we really struggled with this until the anemia was resolved. The iron drops may solve your problem and when she starts eating you'll be singing her praises....however, it depends on the root cause of the anemia. My daughter ended up having a milk protein allergy which was causing intestinal bleeding causing the anemia. So, if the iron drops don't help significantly within a couple of weeks....I would try switching her to soy formula (I'm assuming she's on formula). My daughter was breastfed so this didn't become an issue until she switched to milk, then she gradually ate less and less, and became more and more picky. It was incredibly frustrating and then when we found out what was wrong I felt SO incredibly guilty that I didn't know but....how COULD I have known??? Hope this helps!

She will eat when she is hungry. Just offer her what you normally would. Sometimes little ones go "off their feed" so to speak. You should find that she has spurts where she eats and is hungry constantly, then other times she'll eat next to nothing. This is normal.
