Nope. If they have the ability to make pictures they usually do. But sometimes they forget to hand them to you so speak up and ask. If an ultrasonographer finds it rude, than he/she really shouldn't be working in a job with any patient contact.

No, it's not rude to ask. The only reason they won't give you a picture is if the ultrasound is being done STAT or for a emergency, otherwise they should be happy to give you an ultrasound picture

Of course you can ask for them....Most doctors will give you copies of the pictures they take during the ultra sound. Also, incase you didn't know, there are places you can go (outside your doctor) to have ultrasounds for "entertainment" purposes. Some places even offer 4D ultrasounds and you can actually see what your baby looks like. They usually give you a video and pictures of the ultrasound. But sure, it's perfectly fine to ask your technition for a few extra pics of your baby.

Some sonographers are very giving with the pictures, some only give out one or two. With my second son, I got about 10 pictures....with my current (which I just found out that it's a GIRL today!!) the new girl gave me one, and it one isn't a clear picture of anything really. I was like...gee, thanks. Luckily I work in the medical field and I have someone who can do ultrasounds for me. =)
Just ask, it never hurts to ask. =)

No its not rude to ask. There is no rude with doctors. Theyre not doing you a favor by doing the ultrasound, you're paying them for it.
You should ask for pictures. They always give them out.

No it's not rude. They usually only give one tho, the best shot. The doctor doesn't do the ultrasound usually. Did yours? Mine was the technician at the hospital.

yep it is ok to ask. the most they can say is no or that you have to pay extra and then you can make up your mind from there. we got three at our last appointment and expect to get 3-5 at this one. i have heard that you get more at the 20 week appointment which is our next one.

Of course not...you're paying for the ultrasound, right? I would be surprised if it wasn't offered to you automatically. I walked out of the ultrasound with pictures for both of my pregnancies.
Best of luck!
