I have a 95 honda civic ex coupe with a D16Z6 motor.... I've been told by countless people that I should slap a turbo on it with a manual boost control and have it at like 4psi.... the car itself runs exelent the only thing is that it's an automatic (will deffinatly change tranny to stick in the future) and the fact that the car has around 200,000miles.... i bought it from my aunt and she babied the car like crazy so there is no engine damage what-so-ever.... I would just like to know if I WAS to put a turbo on.... what other mods or upgrades would I need to put on in order for my car to still run ok and not run the chance of ruining anything?

if you want to turbo your honda's engine, there are kits on the market to do just that. it is a good way to make power. however, with 200k on the clock, i would first rebuild the engine to freshen everything up, and bring ti back to near new condition. i would upgrade the pistons to forged, and i would upgrade the cam to one that aids in building low end power, but still lets the engine make decent higher end power with the turbo. there are cams that are ground to do just that. you then need to upgrade the fuel system to allow for the needed fuel flow the engine will require when under boost. the chassis and suspension will need upgrading, as weill the brakes and tires to handle the added power. i would also rebuild the transaxle as well with an eye to handling more power.

one more thing, leave the body kits to the juveniles who think gaudy is good. keep you honda as stock appearing as possible for a nice sleeper look.

to answer your question the best way i know how, think of your engine as a big air pump. more air in = more air out. the greater hte valumes of air that is moved equals more HP. now with that said if you are looking to use this car as a daily driver i would just put on good perforamnce intake, larger throttle plates, bigger injectors, a performance MAP sensor, and reprogram the computer to get you the best performance. As far aas the slushbox tranny is concerned, the price to performance gains from swapping the auto for a manuel isn't worth it. just call "Jegs" and get a built replacement ranny for your car.

working the plates on a motor vehicle will certainly in simple terms permit you realize who owns it, not who replaced into using it. To get around this, there are some opportunities: * For severe crimes, danger is the motor vehicle might have been reported stolen if the genuine proprietor wasn't in touch. despite if it wasn't, that's many times not confusing to artwork out the place the genuine proprietor replaced into. Police are not stupid the two, and understand that distinctive criminals thieve getaway autos. * For site visitors offences (like rushing), the registered proprietor is seen legally to blame for the motor vehicle, so it is as much as them to become attentive to who replaced into using at any time. So in case you weren't using it on the time of an alleged rushing offence, you're able to become attentive to who it replaced into- if the different individual disagrees, issues can get confusing.

I guarantee you if you try to slap a turbo on it,you won't be driving it for long because something big is going to break and you'll be out lots of cash..Maybe it should best be left alone to live out the end of it's long life peacefully.

Hint: You will destroy your engine if you turbocharge it. Either that, or you will be giving it so little boost as to be meaningless.
