I Donate old clothes that do not fit me but would make someone happy.

I dont because theres no point into recyling them because they will make it into something new that could be cheaper.
Also i Feel terrible that people such as in africa have a hard time just finding a water source. i started donating after i saw a video on the discovery channel of a woman holding her baby and crying. And i noticed the little kid was hugging her saying its okay. I like ot donate, not the savation army or whatever because people have to pay. I hope ive helped!

I choose my charitys wisely. If im at a store purchaseing something and they ask me to donate money to a charity sometimes i wont always donate. I like to know more about the charitys. There are thousands of charitys that are for the same thing. I like to know what exactly is special about each one. So far I've donated to the US Marine Corps soldiers, Hurricane Rita, and Katrina victoms, and I've been collecting boxes of clothing to send to families in El Salvedor. I support our troops, my husband is in the Marines, I gave to the Hurrican victoms because I live in Texas and I was lucky enough not loose my house but for those who wern't as lucky i wanted to help out.

I donate to many charities that help the "working poor". I mainly pick charities that "teach men to fish" instead of "giving men fish". Some of the charities I have given to are "Habitiat for Humanity" "Homebase" "Homeward Bound" & "FINCA". I also check the charity navigator to see how these charities are rated. I pick charities where a high portion of the $ goes to the recipients and not administrative overhead.

I also donate blood, because there is a shortage, and many people are not eligible to donate blood. I donate blood because blood donations SAVES LIVES !

American Diabetes Association.

Or
On the state level of Prader-Willi Syndrome Associations.
Close friends daughter has this genetic disorder.

any Hospice - friends who have been attended with compassion from hospice workers.

There are probably many within your state or city that can use donations.

Do NOT contribute to people who call you such as Deputy Sheriff Associations.
Disabled Verterans Associations.

These are "boiler house" groups that share contributor lists and very little if anything actually go to the cause they currently are promoting and you will start to get calls monthy and bi-monthly. The only way I got rid of them was to tell them I had filed for bankruptcy.

Nowadays so many people I know are engaged in walks for a cure or things of the like that I end up doing most of my donations through them. This includes Relay for Life, Autism Speaks, Dana-Ferber Cancer Institute, the Jimmy Fund, and more. This is especially helpful if the company you work for will match your donation.

The Salvation Army is one of the best organizations to donate to. They are often the first ones on the scene to help in major disasters.

yes i do,those ladies sitting outside the dollar stores with peanut brittle,i let them keep the candy, and give a dollar anyway, mainly because they are handy.i give to the firemans, because most of them do good things,i give to st.Jude, because they are many peoples only hope.i give to those little buckets on the side of the cash register, all my change, just about everytime i go to the store, just because.i give to the homeless people standing on the side of the road with a will work for food sign, even tho i i know, they probably will go get a beer.i give our old clothes to the salvation army,i give to food for families because no one should go thru life hungry.and i usually pick up a family for Christmas and thanksgiving, providing food and presents, because every kid should have a good dinner to be thankful for,and everykid should not be forgotten by Santa.i do this, because i should.i don't mind sharing, and the Good Lord always finds a way to pay me back anyway, and because i want to set a good example for my kids, and yes, they are givers too and they are only 10,9 and 7.
