A few weeks ago the fund was stuck at about £902,000. then Gerry went to the States and within days the amount had reached £946,000 or thereabouts where it has stayed ever since.

My point is that the McCanns have said on many occasions that hundreds and thousands of people all around the world are supporting them. They have made a lot of money, but the amount in that fund [ given their so-called worldwide support ] shoud be increasing relative to the immense support they feel they have... not stagnating....

Stephen M That is another point. Why are they still asking for money since they have so much already? Isn't £50k short of a million enough for them?

The money has not been spent but the whole fund was meant to enable them to 'leave no stone unturned' so why haven't they used the money to do that?

Quite frankly most people need money to support their own children never mind increasing a fund that is not even being spent after 100 days of Madeleine's disappearance.

Great points. Have to agree with the majority of posters - people are finally realising that there is little accountability for where the money is being spent and the fact that this is a limited company and NOT a charity.

Furthermore, recent revelations may see the fund grinding to a halt very soon and this case could be set to take a new turn after months of uncertainty. The blindfolds are being taken off on a daily basis and the support for the parents is rapidly dwindling - interesting times ahead!

Because some people are very gulible and felt sorry for the McCanns . The wiser folks knew something was dodgy right from the start. Now more and more people are starting to question this whole saga and more and more Pro's are popping over to the Anti side of the street.

Maybe it is wearing off now or maybe it is because people are starting to have a different view of things including the McCann parents.

Perhaps all those that can give, have. Therefore there are no more people out there willing to part with their hard earned cash to fund the expenses of the McCanns' worldwide holiday.

Because people can support without giving anymore money than they have already. There is only a certain few that support and the rest dont agree with what they are doing.

Support for the dynamic duo is running thin on the ground as people are slowly waking up to the bigger picture

people are behind them but aren't going to just keep giving money. they have £900,000 to spend, thats a lot of money and i'm sure they don't need anymore. Plus most people that feel enough for the story would have given money within the first few weeks

Because there inevitably comes a time when the majority of those who are going to give have already done so. It means no more than that.
