I am talking about items such as: a footrest for under the employee's desk.

Well, most employers say they are willing to make reasonable accomodations for their employees. I think a footrest is reasonable. I mean, would you rather the employee ask for a bed to lay in while doing their work?!

As an employer you would want that all your employees are comfortable with their jobs...I guess a footrest is reasonable...Unless if the employee is asking for something that is not justifiable, that's the time that they will pay for their personal stuff...

OMG...this question is so funny to me. My mother, myself and my daughter get so excited to go into Staples or Office Supply. We kid with each other that we're having an orgasm when we walk in the door. It's funny how office supplies can excite you, lol. I don't know why but I have always loved getting some new supply. Great question!

A footrest, the employer should pay if it is a medical necessity.

it depends on the company. i needed some small accomadtions due to some health problems and they paid for it. I needed a back pad, soft mouse pad and a cover for my computer screen. I was told I could get it as long as it help improve my work performance.
