Both the Democrats and the Republicans have become useless political parties, two extreme ends of the political spectrum. The DNC spends too much time bowing to the demands of the non working poor; the GOP spends too much time bowing to the demands of the loud mouthed Christian right. The DNC wastes money on social programs that don't benefit the average working American; the GOP spends too much money on wars overseas that don't benefit the average working American. The DNC wants to raise taxes for the middle classes; the GOP wants to cut taxes for the wealthy.

What we need is a party that actually cares about what is in the best interest of the average hard working and retired American regardless of race or religion, not these two who spend all their time kowtowing to the squeaky wheels.

Given the evil behaviour of the REPUBLICAN White House when Ms. Plame's husband complained the President had misquoted his reports, you have more nerve than brains to claim Democrats try to silence their critics. Was it the Democrats who organized a hate the Dixie Chicks campaign? Was Joe McCarthy not a REPUBLICAN?

Old age pensions, public education and health care actually do matter. They are significantly more important to the security of Americans, and would cost less than the extravagant temper tantrum we have been staging in the Middle East.

What are Republicans good for except enriching their corporate donors, or should it be owners?

Democrats or Republicans, they both waste government funds. In all actuallity all the politicians in Washington are making record profits off this war. It makes sense that education spending has been cut and we need more money for this damn war. Why not take some of that money and use it to formulate new sources for energy.

Everyday landfills all accross this great country burn off unknown amounts of methane gas, energy that could be used to run power plants and maybe even vehicles if they were designed and engineered to do so. Yet long after I'm dead and gone our species will still be bickering about oil and killing the brown people who have it.

So Jr. Rightwinger ask yourself why are we WASTING money KILLING brown people when we could be doing so much else with all that damn money?

r u kidding? Bush hes wasted billions of dollars in an illegal war! Far more than any dem has.
As for silencing those who oppose, when? how? who? where? It seems to me that the republicans try to do that with their "dems hate the troops cause their against the war" act. The next thing ya know, people criticizing the government will be kicked out of the country.

Democrats try to solve social problems. So if you think poor people, unions, working class, elderly, ill, children and immigrants don't matter, then you are right on. The Bush administration has spent many billions on things that don't matter, such as Iraq, tax breaks for rich, corporate welfare etc. But what have they done for you lately?

Well considering that Republicans have had control of both houses/congress and the white house for over a decade....and we have the largest government spending budgets / deficit's in history...... I think your pointing a plastic finger in the wrong direction.

Well just like you...they are good at being Americans. Why not reserve our anger for those outside of America who deserve it?

Democrats and Republicans are not our enemies...nor should they be.

And let's not mistake different opinions for trying to silence anyone. We don't have to ever agree on anything, but we do have to respect one another as Americans.

Democrats do it just as much as Republicans. It's funny because Republicans are supposed to be the ones that want a smaller government, but they spend the most. Once they got into power, they went into a spending frenzy and the rest is history. It's a shame that McCain isn't doing too well in the race for the presidency; he promised to not pass any pork that came his way and I am all for that.

Hopefully, the Republicans will return to the economic liberal ideals that would encourage smaller government.

they are even better at wasting funds on things that do matter...

let's face it, the democrats have become good little stalinists through and through...joe would be proud of what his henchmen have wrought. senator mccarthy was right about the commies and they now have full control of the democrat party.

Like petty children's head start programs and health care. Damn those democrats. Next thing you know they'll start a expensive war an wastefully give our tax dollars to weapons manufacturers and contractors.
