If you have a cracker barrel near by they have this thing called travel bingo... but that only MIGHT take an hour so then there's the license plate game where you try and see as many different state license plates possible and whoever sees the most by the end of the trip wins but i dunno about the 3 year old. then theres the alphabet game that i still play even though im 14 and thats where the 1st person says something they see that starts with "a" such as asphalt and then the next person says something that starts with "b" like bus and it just goes on till you reach the end of the alphabet. the only rules are you cant name a store or someone or something inside the car but we let those rule slide when its Q or X or Z! hope you have fun!

if you get game systems that would work but if you dont want to do that get a little portable DVD player and get a couple movies, dont forget about the time it takes to get back from the trip, 6 movies, 2 hours each 3 going there 3 coming back.

Name-The-Car. The 10 yr old will probably know some of the cars and the 3 yr old can just say "I call the red thing with no roof." and stuff like that.

Spot the car! You have to see how many red cars you can see in 5 mins, then do white cars, then lorries, then caravans... you get the idea! I used to love that game and it'd keep me going for hours! My poor parents.... lol!!

candyland and chutes and ladders are both good. try a card game that doesn't require reading. there are lots of cheap travel style games that either one can play alone or together.
