Do your world history research before asking such an all encompassing question. You realize there is history of the middle east dating back thousands of years. The people living in those regions have so much history and culture causing the strife today. Any judgment passed on them by anyone without a true understanding of world history is immature and frankly harmful.

The middle east is made of little countries that have been etched out, sort of randomly, and everyone wants more land. Almost every country has oil and oil equals money and so they all want more oil and more money. There is also the problem of muslim versus christianity. They can't live together equally. The Muslims don't want to change and they don't want the Christians in their land. So, you have violence. Throw into this Israel, a land that was there all along, but had been taken away and had been absorbed into the Muslim land, then after the war had been given back to the Jews as Palestine, then changed to Israel. It may not be rich in oil, but it has ports and it has Jews, something the Muslims don't want. The Christians don't care about that, but, it caused wars, and land was taken and never given back, and of course there is the fact that Jersulam went into the land that is now in the hand of the Jews and this causes incredible problems. Everything causes problems and nobody knows how to fix the mess. There is some talk about a peace treaty between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which would help things no end. There really are no big problems with Jordan and Egypt, so things could calm down. With Arfat gone, it's anyone's guess what will happen there. But I don't see peace as the final end. Iraq and Iran will always be a problem. For those that still believe, sorry but Bin Laden is most probably gone, but that doesn't mean that his followers aren't still out there and I'm sure he left plenty of money.
When a lot of money is involved you always get violence, everyone wants it. And everyone is willing to kill for it.
You don't even need to be talking about this amount of money for people to kill, but we are talking about a huge amount of money.

Where is the Middle East?

The middle east violence unfortunately is more deep seated than just the current leaders. It goes back nearly 5000 years to the time of Abraham, Issac, and Ishmael. Issac's descendants went on to become the Jewish people, and Ishmael's became the Islamic people. Both claim Palestine as their own land, and Jerusalem as theirs. When the Jewish people were granted their homeland of Israel after WWII many Arabic leaders vowed that they would not rest until Israel was wiped off the map. This is a blood fued that started between two brothers, and cannot end well for either side.

I have high regards for the Middle East brethren... Please take my statement in positive perspective...
In olden days warriors from Middle East invaded the eastern countries... I think the same attitude might be lingering on in their sixth sense... that prompts them for having aggressive nature...
It affects adversely on the peace and prosperity of their countries in particular... and on global scenario as a whole...

Evil is anything you don't like.

Look at the history of the world -- most leaders have been declared evil by at least someone.

There is conflict in the Middle East, the same way there was conflict in Europe and Asia for centuries -- different groups struggling for dominance.

they have, for the most part, little education, limited lands and resources and those that are wanting the whole pie rather than their piece of it and then there are those who follow a religion that dictates all who do not follow it should die and what education they do get, is from the madrassa who preach hate against the west and infadels and of course that jews are pigs and monkey with no soul.

i know some are educated but i speak of the vast majority who are not.

if they are not fighting the west, they are fighting each other for supremacy. i fear that little will change as it has been this way for centuries.

it is a violent region of the world. the two dominant religions in the world both view the middle east as their own holy land and this passion itself breeds fundamental violent tendencies.

It also happens to be the most oil rich producing region of the world, which generates even more passionate violence

Ask the US which buys the evil doers their ticket to the office !

Also, US arms both the sides in a conflict and tell the world, "Please dont fight. We want peace."

All hypocritical rubbish !
