i do no longer understand of any suggestions attainable that states that drugs are carried in sperm, so your toddler is probably ok on that foundation. besides the fact that, there are study that help the thought habit is geneticly transferable, somewhat from the daddy. so as which would be something to computer screen out for as you improve your toddler. you're saying the toddler's father is out of your existence. this ability which you would be beginning up a clean relationship sometime interior the destiny. possibly it might earnings your toddler in case you made specific that any guy you carry into your existence, has little or no pastime in drugs, smoking, or alcohol. of direction that is going for you too. So on the question of how your toddler would properly be plagued via his fathers drug abuse, i'd say, no as long as your toddler is interior you. yet in a while if he tries to be a factor of your toddler's existence then his drug use probably would have an influence one way or the different.

Alcohol, smoking, or drugs can affect the baby. Lower birth weight and increased risk of disease in babies has been connected with a father's smoking. Some researchers believe a father's drug use before conception increases the chance for birth defects in their children.

Try to do your own search and definitely talk to your doctor about this.

It's possible. Not so much that the drugs will affect your baby directly, but the drugs would have affected his sperm and made the sperm less than healthy, and possibly passed on those defects at conception.

Tell your doctor about it so they can monitor everything real closely.

The possibility is there and it is not a stupid question. Don't worry about it until you go to your first visit. Everything should be just fine. Just ask your doctor about the risks.

No. Using drugs can decrease a man's fertility, but if he already got you pregnant that's not a problem for him. As I'm sure you already know, if you use drugs during your pregnancy this can have devastating effects on your unborn baby!

Well from family experiece...
My cousin's ex husband was on drugs at the time of conception as well. Both of their children ended up with problems, but I don't want you to worry. This man was also an alcoholic, though. Children can sometimes be born addicted to drugs.Their son ended up with autism, and their daughter had fetal alcohol syndrome.

Please don't worry too much. This does NOT happen to all children.

only if he is carrying a disease. However, there is a chance that drugs could have adverse effects that are yet to be discovered. It would be an intereting topic of research.
