I would say you will get a fine. (200.00-400.00) Maybe some public service work. (30-60 Hours) Don't freak out on it. Your not going to the pen.

O.K. first of all you will NOT automatically 'get a fine'. That's up to the court and no one here can tell you whether or not you can pay a fine and not appear or if you will have to appear. That is something ONLY the court can tell you.

However, as Missouri is one of the states in which I practice law, i CAN tell you that a court fine is the least of it. You will also be getting a letter in the mail from the store's legal department (or attorney) ordering you to pay a CIVIL Recovery fine of from $100 to $500 for the time and effort they expended in apprehending and prosecuting you.

and the letter and the demand and any subsequent civil action to recover is perfectly legal. So I suggest that you prepare to pay at least a few hundred dollars over and above what the court demands. Because it will happen.

The worst that could happen would be either a heafty fine or maybe some community service. The worst I think that could happen would be going to jail for 1 month. But it depends on your state laws. I don't think they will charge you hard. Just have a good reason for shop lifting and they might just let you off with a fine.

Do not give that baby up. That baby is really special and you should not have to be a killer. You could give the baby up for adoption because there are a million family's out there that wont a baby and they can have one. There are better ways to deal with things like this

You have to go to court. You'll get enough of lecture from the judge, I'm sure, then pay a fine.

You go to court -- or have an attorney do it for you if the only penalty is a monetary fine. And you pay the fine.

Go to court and pay the fine. You won't go to jail.

I would hire an attorney. They will have to be licensed in Missouri! It will be cheaper for you to cause trouble in your own state than ours!
