Don't know but they should, because they will be first on the extremists hit-list. They can smell fear like rabid dog's do.

I love all the answers from conservatives declaring, without any basis in fact, that liberals don't acknowledge Islamic extremists exist. This, of course, is preposterous. Of course there are Islamic extremists, and of course they can be a threat to Americans. However, they cannot be a threat to America, and they are, statistically, only a very small threat to any given American. Whatever attacks they may bring against us, our country will endure. And they simply do not have the power to actually harm many of us. So no, I do not fear them, for doing so, while it is what the current administration wants, would serve no possible purpose or even be a reasonable response.

I fear a government which has no qualms breaking the law, ignoring the Constitution, spying on American citizens with no judicial oversight in direct violation of FISA and the 4th Amendment, who flies people to other countries to be tortured who have not even been charged with a crime, who builds DETENTION CENTERS here on American soil in preparation for the incarceration of political dissidents, who enacts over 750 Executive Orders in direct conflict with the laws which have been enacted by a process over 200 years old of checks and balances, who is currently imprisoning human beings who have not been charged with a crime and with no access to lawyers, who has created wholly UN-Constitutional legislation in the mob-mentality-fever-pitch it has created in the wake of a national tragedy, which has contracted out with private corporations (Diebold and ChoicePoint) to illegally manipulate votes and illegally collect personal data, and which tortures at will people who have not been charged with a crime.
And uses MY paycheck to do all these things.
THAT is what I fear.

I dont run around fearing things that dont affect my life yet.
I acknowledge the problem and will keep an eye on it.
The intrusive gov't directly affects us.
Islamic terrorists have done so in the past-I support stopping them at that, but not using them as a scape goat for attacking our rights, taking away accountability in gov't, and fighting unjustified wars.

What I fear is my fellow Americans who continue to work the political divide in America. United we stand.

Liberals don't fear them. They will not even address it. They will blame corporate conduct, republicans, conservatives, christians and sometimes jews for the conduct of Islamic fundys because they can't think for themselves really and just react to injustice. Liberals are convinced that if we just stop being capitalists and driving our cars and leave the oil in the ground and bring home the troops everything will be just fine.

Islamic extremists have no power in America. Fearing them is therefore illogical.

They way you put it, it sounds like conservatives would love this except replace "Islamic" with "Christian".
And to me, Extremism in any form, Islamic, Christian, Right, and Left is scary.
