Seems collectively as if they were much wiser when running for office than managing talking poits in office!

Yes, they are not very effective while in office.

But there was no need to talk about Iraq last fall -- the American people made it clear what they wanted -- the politicians didn't need to do any campaigning to convince them.

Uh........where do YOU live that the "Democrats were rather quiet about Iraq??"

It's been the main topic of conversation for almost five frikkin' years now. BY DESIGN. After all, THIS way the politicians don't have to answer for anything ELSE, now do they?
